I made some minor modifications to my new Rlaarlo XTS-S10 rally car. After running it for the first time in a large parking lot, I was surprised at the number of tiny stones that ended up in the chassis. I had already added some foam pieces to fill in an opening that could allow stones to get into the motor pinion/spur gear area.

To try to get to the root of the problem, I added some extensions to the body wheel wells where I believe the debris was entering the chassis. I glued on (with Shoe Goo) some pieces of vinyl upholstery fabric and colored them black. They are unnoticeable. The photos do a poor job at showing the project. They show the wheel well extensions, with the body off the chassis and upside down.

I also used a straight pin and some white paint to fill in the arrows on the transmitter's dual rate and trim knobs and the reference marks around them so my 65-year-old eyes can see my settings. 🤓 I also added some decals to "customize" the transmitter a bit...

You won't, no. But Mike will hehehe wahahaha!

I'll try to get some info up tonight. It's hopefully going to be pretty cool. One guy who is pretty big out there in the RC world said it would be a bit of a game changer for folks like us. Mostly like Mike. But others too.
Well?
The game is waiting... :stick:
Hit a snag?

sloppily ran the wiring for the MBX8T's esc and servo
- 30 minutes trying to guide the esc wires underneath the chassis brace before noticing there are wire guides hidden underneath the battery tray and the center diff
- another 30 minutes trying to get the servo horn to clear the RX box before reading about how other people tried mounting the servo horn atop the steering linkage, since their thicker servo horns also wouldn't clear the RX box

at this point i should be able to zip-tie the excess wire length, get two 2S batteries, calibrate the servo, ESC and the tx before proceeding to send it off a 5m high ramp

I did something tonight i wasn't sure i was going to do and was a little outside of my comfort zone when it comes to RC. I changed the steering spring out on my iXSR+ to the stiffer\harder one that came included with the radio and i took my Slash 4x4 Ultimate outside took a little rip in the backyard. Everything seems to be okay and it steers like normal but now the wheel feels more like my DX6C and my old 4PM felt. So i'm now okay and if i didn't screw up anything i'm all happy.

I got my parts from A-Main for my B74.1 today so i installed them and i secured the fan to receiver wire down with some electrical tape also replaced the broken front bumper on the buggy. Also bench tested everything with my radio to make sure everything works.

Everything's almost ready for our next track day just need to wait for my Dad's buggy to get fixed when the part arrives he ordered it today and it shipped.

I reassembled the new Rlaarlo STX-F10 looks-like-a-Ford-Fiesta rally car after doing some sheetrock tape and Shoe Goo reinforcement in key areas. I'm just waiting for some Velcro to arrive tomorrow so I can mount the top half of Rlaarlo's dust cover to the chassis.

These Rlaarlo XTS cars really pick up the gravel and dirt. Even with the extensions I added to the XTS-S10 wheel wells, I still have to shake out a pile of little stones and gravel after a run. The XTS-F10 doesn't even have any wheel wells, so I won't run it until I get the mesh dust cover installed over the chassis. I may order another one to put on the XTS-S10.

I would add another pullstart but I converted it to a drillstart because the measurements of the Thunder Tiger MTA4 are sadly different.

How's it going everyone? I cleaned my XO-1 up a little bit since i'm still waiting to buy parts for it next month and all the plastics looked kind of nasty after a few years of running her. But now she's looking better i might take her completely apart and clean her fully someday. I used Great value (Walmart) multi purpose cleaner since i don't have anything cow rc as of yet. I'd say she came out looking decent.

15-20 minutes of messing with the radio tray on the MBX8T to install the servo washers I bought recently, and also found out why the servo linkage is interfering with the RX box at full left steering

it was because the servo linkage was accidentally set 2mm longer than the box setup.
