Today I made a pit mat. I didn’t want anything with logos on it so I bought a yoga mat at Walmart and cut it to the size I wanted. I’m assuming I cut it straight. I had to use a yard stick and an xacto knife.

i did some fabbing to save $3. made what is technically an ESC mount but i didn't mount the ESC on it. in my case its a battery hold down.

then i had to put foam on the bottom to make the battery fit better (snugger)

then installed it

then test fit the battery

Well last night I finally pulled the Mugen onto the bench to install the new servos and receiver. Got it all done, just gotta tweak things now (the steering servo came parked to the left, rather than centered) and make friends with the radio. I post up a new build thread for it... even though it's not really a 'build' as much as 'make it my own,' kind of a deal.

Time to start putting The 'Hawk back together.

Finished the cut over of the Rustler 'Blue Streak' to DragSpec config from GrassSpec config. Basically a tire change to JC SCT Octagons up front and P-L SCT Street Fighters out back. Fiddled about with shock fluids, springs, pre-load spacers and balanced her out neutral in the RR with a battery back location for rear weight bias.

Dozen or so runs at 50-60 and 70% THR and she went straight and true - no pesky wheelies. She's set for next week's first round run. 3250Kv sensorless, 120A ESC, 2s x 6000 130C 7.6v LiPo 'shorty'.
