Oops, guess I didn't tighten down the motor all the way. Time to hit the lhs

Ah- just run a zip-tie around it.
Lol. I looked at his pic and my first thought was take a cylindrical stone in a rotary tool and cut a ball groove in the pinion by cranking the motor up and use it for a lathe and grind the groove. Then get a heavy gage o-ring in there and use it as a tire against the spur gear. I'd be curious to see how long that lasts lol.

I'm learning so don't be too harsh lol
Did your spur gear break off every tooth on your pinion? Is that what I'm seeing?
Is it a one piece fix?
Yeah, mesh was good when I put it in but the upper screw holding the motor in needed to be torqued down a bit more. Motor shifted and ate up the pinion.

Come on now. Tell the truth. You hit that burm in your playground area and tried to jump the house didn't you?!

Nah man that would've been a broken window 😂

Maybe if I lay my kicker on the berm then I could get my 6s up there 🤔 it's only 20' past the fence

I'm sure my neighbor would be thrilled

Man, you could cut that berm into 3 or 4different kinda ramps. MT 90° backflip ramp, an aim for the sky ramp, and a short, race course jump. Hell, a track would fit there nicely 😉

I just use some double sided tape to support the motor and it's done pretty good.

Great idea. You'll likely still get a little wiggle with that plastic mount though. Especially when jumping. That aluminum mount would make a pretty nice upgrade. Plus you would have a more accurate contact with your gear mesh.

Had a few hours to burn (literally 😅), so I knocked out the left hand outermost footprint of the track.. ALL grass inboard of these boundaries will be gonezo. It’s a good thing I’m so easily amused with fire, and anal af… 🤣

From the driver’s stand (deck) looking left:

From roughly 8-10’ or so:

From “in the neighborhood of” the property line about 20’ further left, and obviously looking to the right hand side I did a few days back… This gives you an idea of how wide it’s going to be:

Same deal, but at the back side:

Back side/far lane from the opposite end (this will be an uninterrupted straightaway) :

And of course from the far right, to the far left, and closest portion. I will get that “slight bow” handled:

And this run is going to get pushed over another 15’ or so further right:

Not gonna be knocked out in a day or three obviously, but I am digging the new torch! It’s gonna take longer than easier methods (vinegar, tilling, etc.), but I don’t want it all to just come right back in a big dammit hurry, and do not mind the extra time, effort, and expense of doing it RIGHT imo.. I’ll drag it with the Kuboto after.. 🤩🍻🤘

Hopefully I'll get time today to replace the connectors on my Infraction 6s with XT90's, so I can test it before giving it a well needed clean. It's full of road dust. Only damage I can see so far is scratches to the chassis underside which is to be expected from a used car. The body is in new condition apart from the dusty. Its never been rolled.

Looking great so far!
Thanks man! Small updates, but updates none the less…😅🤷🏻‍♂️

This is me trying to run that strip 🤣

I need to make my lanes about three Kubotas wide 😂

Maybe I should’ve reiterated what I said in the initial post a few days back LOL!

TEN FOOT LANES. 🤣🤣🤣

These “outlines/borders” are simply the outer most edges of the track footprint. Everything inboard of them will be burned to the ground (aside from the 3-4 big trees in a row, but the random foliage, and smaller trees will be jerked out with the kubota/burned to the ground).

Then I’ll drag it all with the Kubota, and Handle the layout with likely 700-900’ of black corrugated 4” drain pipe, held in place with a few hundred 12” spikes, and flat washers. That’s how I’ve done every other 1/8 off-road track I’ve thrown together.. then jumps, etc., and DRIVE. 😜🤘

That makes a lot more sense 🤣🤣🤣 I missed that part 🤣
