My ten year old Roomba made it to the RC bench today for a full tuneup. Got new beaters, filter and corner brush. I took everything apart and cleaned all the electrical contacts and everything else. First time I’ve done anything other than blow the filter out and empty the bin since it was new 😂 I also discovered it runs on 4s! No wonder it’s such a beast! It’s ready to race now!

Just one question...

I did the same thing last week. Except ours is a Ecovacs deebot T20. Cleaned it, replaced the filter, replaced the mop pads, removed the girls hair from all the rotating parts and ordered a service kit for it.

How’s it do as a mop? There’s a lot of tile and hardwood floors in my house.

Surprisingly, It does well. My wife hasn't mopped the floors since we bought it. It has 2 rotating mops. That's why we bought it. It goes back to the station and cleans the pads every now and then. The station holds the clean water and grey water.

We will need to do a deep clean of the tile grout eventually but so far it's staying clean.

The other style of robovac with stationery pads, just drag dirt around.

Do you guys have pets to keep up with? I always wondered how a Roomba would do after a few rounds with my Shedasaurus Rex.
There’s three cats in my house. They pretty much go away whenever it fires up. I have it go every weekday at noon. I only need to empty the bin once a week usually.

I need something to wrench on...
Haven't really worked on any of my cars in a while. Since they are durable for my driving.
Maybe get a job... that will take up your spare time.
