Tonight I did a little work on my SCX24 Gladiator.
First up trimmed off the fender flares to eliminate some tire rub, price you have to pay for adding more aggressive rubber.

Next up I decided to add a deadbolt roof rack to the top of the Gladiator, makes it look a little meaner.
First thing I did, was trim the length of the roof rack posts down so it would sit at the right height. Then I used a paint pen on the bottom of the posts, and carefully placed it where I wanted it, so I could transfer the paint to the roof, so I would no where to drill. Next up used a pin vice to drill the holes in both the roof and also pilot holes in the rack legs themselves.

Next popped some screws with grommets up through the roof, and into the legs of the rack. This was tricky, good thing plastic flexes a bit.

Those tyres look good.

Really love Injora's new tire selections. The rubber compound is tacky and super soft. This one is the "All Terrain" my current favorite is their "Swamp Claw" I liked them so much I bought some in 1/10 for my Element Ecto.

I'm just looking at the Injora tyres now. Do you know, what's the largest size that fits the Deadbolt 24th without having to cut out too much of the body?

Og tyre size is 54mm(2.1") x 16.5mm(0.65")

When I first put these Mudslingers on our Deadbolt, I had to cut 9.5mm out of the rear of the front fender opening, and about 3mm out of the top to keep from rubbing. The rear fender opening was fine.

I did have +5mm hex extensions on at the time too.

Injora's smaller size All Terrains is 58x24mm which is big enough for me considering the stock tyres are only 54mm x 16.5mm. I'm hoping I don't have to cut out too much of the body. It's got a nice shape and I don't want to destroy it.

So based on the diameter difference, you'd be trimming roughly 1.5mm out of the top, and 8mm out of the rear. But it will also depend on your wheel offset and any hex extenders you use.

I think I have fitted the +4mm Hot Racing axle extension in mine.

It won't look bad if you trim the opening enough to clear. Just try to follow the stock opening, but more towards the rear, and it will look fine. I actually trimmed mine a few times, testing the clearance each time til I got it where I wanted it. Then I smoothed it with a drum wheel in the rotary.

All of my Deadbolts are trimmed a bit. But the difference in performance is worth it. I don't like cutting more than I have to because I like them to be semi realistic.

A little Outcast love.
Installed a new Castle 1515 motor. It took me 5 minutes to pull the old motor and install the new one, and another 5 minutes to shorten the wires. This is one of the smoothest installs I've done in a while.

@majin motivated me to get the bashers out and fix/try to fix .

Big rock got a new spur gear, simple fix

MT8 the motor fell off . Reattached it and put a stronger servo in it

TMaxx I pulled the engine off to check out the clutch, found the spring broke, ordered some mip springs for it.

Vorza, well that thing has just been a thorn in my rear from pretty much day one I looked at it and threw it back under the bench (had to order exhaust seal for it)

Gotta get some mowing done and we might be able to run the big rock and mt8 later on today and probably revisit this thread

I finished building my Euro Truck. Tamiya really needs to make a few upgrades to these old kits. But at least it’s done.
