Replaced a half of the transmission shell as there was a crack in it... Found a stupid rock in it... Dunno if the rock caused it to crack or it got stuck after the fact lol... Also I ended up with an extra screw... Yikes 😬

Couldn't figure it out ummm....

Found out Mugen MBX7T arms fit fine on the MBX5T, the shock position are moved out a little on the 7 arms but overlap with the range of the 5 arms, the drop adjust screw seems to line up better with the Tekno chassis too. I also helped my BIL get his frankencrawler (redcat gen7 chassis, gen8 axles, scx10ii transmission) back together with fresh bearings and a new Hobbywing Fusion SE motor, that motor feels like cheating, it really nice.

Busy work yesterday while listening to Indy NXT and NTT quals.

Added a pair of bang bars to each side of the MT10. RPM HD Rustler camber links held in place by TRX Rustler shoulder screws and Serpent M3 nylon flange nuts. Turned out o.k. More for bling than protection.

And then vented a set of DE Racing wheels destined for 'ink blue' paint and mounting a pair P-L tires for the Rustler drag car.

That was Saturday night.
As of 12 hours ago (Sunday night) it is already rolling on its wheels!
Essentially 1 day build. Pretty fast.
Makes me want to build up kits more. But, what bashers are out there that are still build up kits? Slash 2wd (nah already gots it) Stampede 4x4 kit (its discontinued I believe)

Well should I even call it a 1 day build? I started Saturday night and have a snack bag full of parts to do tonight.

@Willy0942

Willy, that stand you made in the first photo is from Erector Set parts? Is that correct? My gosh, haven't seen those pieces since the set I had in the 1950s. Is it from a complete set? How cool that is for a display stand. Two thumbs up, twice. :thumbs-up::thumbs-up: :thumbs-up::thumbs-up:
Yepper, don’t have the full set, just this stand, but wish I did.

Still chasing the set up on this thing. I put medium springs up front and soft springs in the rear. I felt the rear was too bouncy with medium springs in the back. The front should be fine. I also added wedge to the rear and put 2 less rounds of spring tension on the Right Rear sock. According to the manual it should help take out steering on corner exit, which is my biggest issue; the car just constantly spins out exiting the corner. I didnt adjust the shock collars at all up front, because I felt the car enters the corners good, and let the front ride height as low as I can. I also went back and added toe out up front. I heard this should also take some steering out exiting the corner so we'll see tomorrow night. Seeing the scratches on the body under the lights still hurts a bit but it's fine, that's part of the hobby. I still gotta set the steering trim and end points yet again, and I need to change some settings in the ESC, but I'll do it at the track tomorrow. Still has soft tires on the (driver's) left side, and hard tires on the right side.

Today after years, I rearranged some modeling objects. Equipment, spare parts, memories that made me relive my passion for this hobby that I had neglected for too long.
Looking back at my Ofna CD3 PRO assembly kit, I longed to assemble it. and to think that some time ago I put it up for sale on eBay, but luckily I changed my mind. I don't want to repeat the mistake of selling other HPI-Kyosho models like the full option Mad Force, FW05-RR and V-one S, and $5000 HPI Baja B5 ss and other models that I now regret.
I know it's not the right time, but I hope to soon find the time to dedicate myself to nitro RC again. It is a hobby that has given me a lot of satisfaction and that I want to continue cultivating. :thumbs-up:
