You can see it up close, this isn’t the only one I’ve had issues with either. The creases where the body lines are are thin, the paint seems to pool away. Kinda hard to describe 🤣 but I’m sure the humidity does not help me any. Ain’t no escaping that here besides painting inside but I'm not set up for that yet
That happens even with an airbrush. The trick to getting into those hard to reach areas believe it or not is spray a little paint in the cap and use a fine paint brush. Or, a few initial light dusting coats aiming just at those areas from a bit farther away with the rattle cans.

See, what happens is, the air hits those depressions and blows the paint right back at you. So the can distance needs to be just so, that the air dwindles off, but the paint still maintains a little velocity and reaches the target. Try that next time and see if you dont get better results.

And they only put enough paint in those tiny RC paint rattle cans to spray half a body well. They charge twice as much, and sell ya half as much as you need. Get a cheap Master brand dual action, gravity feed airbrush off Amazon. You can spend $8 on a 2oz bottle of paint that will do a bunch of bodies with multiple coats of paint.

I know he may look and sound like a snake oil salesman, but he knows his paintwork. :thumbs-up: you can trust him, but only on painting tips, everything else he's one sketchy dude!
It’s the BEST snake oil though!!

Question for ya (since I have started gathering airbrush equipment) can I use auto paint with flex agent on these? I know a guy that can get me that 🤣

You guys…. y’all are too kind, for real..
You got some serious skill my friend, I love it 😍. I’ve seen wickeds paint jobs too, I can only wish to reach y’alls level.

No. Stick to Parma or Createx acrylics, or if you don't mind getting one helluva buzz, use Spazstix. One note, I have seen people mention Createx doesn't adhere as well as Parma brand lexan paints, but I personally have not noticed that. Parma paints have been kinda hard to source on the internet for awhile, but I just noticed my favorite place to buy them is back up and running after their site being down for the last year or so! Also with the Createx, or their Wicked lines, just add a few drops of 4030 balancing clear to them, or their 4050 UVLS (especially for any fluorescents).. You can ALSO use just the clear as your first coat (LIGHTLY dusting it first, then building up to heavier coats until full coverage is achieved), then follow with the Createx water based as you see fit. When finished, I like to shoot a final layer of 4030, or 4050 to protect my work. Some folks use Tamiya Polycarbonate white as well, or I’ve even seen guys use certain Krylon, or Rustoleum with good results. I’ll also mention that if you’re new to airbrush, the Createx 4021 reducer helps immensely with tip dry compared to 4011, 4012, 4013, etc.. I now use those reducers as a “rinse” between colors unless I’m doing a full disassembly. 🍻🤙

I don't have enough airbrush experience to have learned all that, so thanks.

One thing I will say is I use a homemade acrylic thinner concoction that has a reducer and retarder in it that does a great job with any of the acrylics I have been using so far. It was something a chemical engineer on one of the model railroad forums I hung out on shared a number of years ago. I wish I could find the link to the PDF, or the PDF I downloaded with the recipe. I will keep looking. I have the 4021 reducer and I can't tell a difference except in price. I made a couple gallons of this stuff for only about $15 or so in chemicals. I am still a bit of a noob though, so maybe I am just not noticing the difference because of that 🤷‍♂️

Bloodshot Airbrushing on Youtube is one helluva aurbrush artist who uses a lot of Createx and he swears by only using this at 1:3 with water for his thinning and cleaning needs.

This guy has a lot of beginner tutorials as well.

Son wanted to take his trx4 all the way down and clean it, so he’s got it scattered all over the bench
Way to go kiddo! You show that workbench who's boss!

Its not my Fusion Pro and I'm not the first person to try and fix it, its ugly but works now and needs some insulation. I need to get another helping hands thing.
