The Ultimate R/C experiment
PBS NOVA.

Researchers rig a multi- car pile up on Black Ice simulation.
Eight IRL cars, trucks vans have cameras and driving servos installed.
The drivers are in 8 stationary Control Pods = Smart cars with a big TV in front of the windshield.
Sort of like a Driving Sim that controls an IRL self driving car, but you are driving it. But most of all you can't get hurt when you inevitably crash.
Then they cause a massive pile up on a Scottish runway to see how the drivers react in an emergency.
4 drivers are pros.
The other 4 are average volunteer drivers of all skill levels who have no idea they are about to get totaled.

I would pay for that ride at an Amusement Park!

Yeah, but ultimately the insurance companies with just use it to say since you drive a grey Subaru, are left handed, and have red hair, your insurance rate is now doubled.
