hi everyone. this is my situation today i broke pull start on my nitro rs4 mt. since i never liked the eingine it has any way (.15 fe) i could buy a new one any. if this were any of you would you buy a new engine or replace the pull start?

I'd buy a new engine AND replace the pullstarter (or try to repair it if it's just the string). Better to at least have a back up engine so you can still play.

i was thinking about doing that also. oh yeah i broke the metal coil in the pullstarter. would be a all around engine?

Depending on where the spring broke, it might be repairable without a new spring... just patience and a lighter.

I had the end of the coil snap off my orion pull starter once. I heated up about 3/4 of an inch (just the end), until it was red hot. Then I let it cool off and reformed it. Worked fine for about 5 gallons worth of starting after that, then I sold the engine.

i dont know how to explain this. it broke where the end meets with the plastic pleice in the middle of pull start. if you can understand that then you might know what I'm talking about.

That's exactly where mine broke as well.

oh so i can fix it my self then right? ill probaby fix it tomorrow but i still am going to most likely get a new engine any way.

Should be able too. Just make sure to heat it with a lighter or mini-torch before trying to bend it. If you don't, it will just snap. It's very brittle steel until heated. Then it becomes more malleable.

a starter box is amazing, i wouldnt trade it for anything, i think its better then a roto start....

if i leave the engine without the pullstarter will it get more performance? and i dont really know much about a starter box but do they come will glow ignitors?
