I was wanting to know, what products was best to use in modding a crank in a nitro motor 1st ? do they make a micro cylinder hone to open/polish the throat of the crank 2nd ? whats best to polish the crank over-all,a wire brush pink stone, green stone ?????any help would be greatfull thanks Dave..

I don't know much about nitro PnP but I have built my share of car engines and have found that the wire wheel (steel and brass)will polish to a good shine, and the blue stone is good for your satin finish, but I would assume that you would want a satin crank to help seperate the oil, a satin intake port to help swirl the air and a polished exhaust port, not to sure if there are specific tools for nitro "head work" but a dremal and a stone kit with a few different wire wheels is all you'll need, take heed though, if youve never worked with PnP before, you can possibily reduce your engines abilities, just like I've seen a few guys ruin a good set of heads on a motor by "hogging" the ports, simply to end up turning a 12s motor into a 15s grocery getter with poor gas milage LOL
good luck

You need a degree wheel and thorough working knowledge of nitro engine timing to mess with a crank. If you have a junk engine to practice on , cool. I 've done it. I lucked up and made my Axial a little stronger, I have also ruined a thunder tiger .26 with a 6-pack of bud Light and a Dremel.:hehe:
Just remember to tape over all the bearing journals on the crank. One slip and it's ruined.
