So I was lookin at picking up a Castle 1515 2200kv motor but I'm seeing some that are pictured having a smooth can instead of the ribbed can that I'm used to. Is there any difference in these?

@Greywolf74 the ribbed versions are to provide better cooling vs a smooth can. If I'm not mistaken the smooth can is an older version as most if not all of the newer motors are ribbed.

I mean I knew that about the cooling aspect I've just never seen a smooth can 1515 before. i assumed they were newer ones or something. interesting. I wonder how they hold up vs the ribbed ones.

Be careful of cheap Chinese fakes!
mid it’s cheap for a castle 1/8 Motor then it’s prolly fake. There’s lots of them knocking around on eBay an Amazon. Around £50. Gbp compared to something like £150. For one from a hobby shop . 👍

Yeah I almost bought one of those until I read the reviews and theyre were people saying it was a knock off. The more I looked around the more of thosse knock offs I've seen. Theyre everywhere smh
