They ran these at our local fair back in IL before, and school bus demos lol

Some of the derby races I have seen have had guys with gigantic balls, taking some of the hits they do. I saw one that ran over the hood of a guy and stuck the rear of his shredded car into the windshield of the guy he ran over. It looked like it broke the guy's nose. Stopped JUST in time.

$1k in prize money, $3800 in diesel fuel spent. 🤷‍♀️😎😁

Seems like the guy in red pissed someone (everyone?) off! 🤣

So I'm back. Best day at the track in a long time. Got my 40mm motor fan as soon as I walked in the door. Ran down all 3 batteries, some more than once. I broke nothing on my new truck, and while I was involved in an actual accident or 2, I don't think I broke anyone else's car either.
Acclimated to driving this pretty quick. I moved the transponder from mini b into this for now. Didn't take long to see lap times in the low 20s, then fairly consistent around 20.5. I got to make a couple front end adjustments and test the results in the same day. Dropped my times down to mid 19. I managed to hit 18.9 once for the hot lap. For reference this is on a track that guys running Schumacher, and the latest tlr are hitting 13s average.
Had a number of guys stop by that just can't believe it's brushed, or stock. To say I'm impressed would be an understatement. I had a 2wd slash that I tried to get along with and just couldn't . Traded it away some years ago.
Even hung around after I decided my driving was done and put in some time as turn Marshall for the guys still going.
I don't even have plans to add any upgrades yet.
It does have 1 thing in common with the mini b....I seem to have lost a lot of diff lube and got the std. Mess of carpet fibers stuck all over the back end.

Don't be too hard on yourself. There's always next week. Have you tried sharpening the bumper yet? 🤔🤣

Sounds like a great time! Congrats! 😎👍

No bumper sharpening atm, lol. This thing performs in fine sct style. With maximum body roll and some inner rear wheel lift on hard corners. Looks like a refined display of clumsy precision. I could drive and laugh at it all day....

Lol! Sounds like its driving perfectly! I'd toss a Duster or VW Bug body on it and let it look like the war wagon it wants to be.
I'm surprised to hear how well it drives as an SCT. This chassis is perfect as the Gorgon in its MT clothes.😍

Arrma found a winner I think. 👍😎

It's a genuinely great rigg right out of the box with some basic set up. Even still rocking the factory transmitter. I moved the steering trim to dead center, turned it on the first time and went straight. No adjustment needed.

That is funny. I enjoy the Gorgon so much in its stock brushed 2s power that I would buy another if I got itchy to mod one or just buy the Quake.
Its perfect out of the box for me too. 👍😎

Got a call into hh customer service. I realize this is a rtr kit marketed towards entry level. I still want tech specs like what weight shock oil they use from the factory so i have a starting point. Not to mention, since the diff lube is coming out, I wouldn't mind knowing what was in there either.

Whatever it was shows great adhesion properties with carpet fibers.

If you have trouble finding parts, you can get them under 'Losi TrackVac 2000'.
Wasn't as catchy a name but caught ALL the lint and fuzz!!! 🤣

Hh got back to me....15wt. Oil in the shocks all around. Good info to get, I would have made the wrong choice to thicken the oil in the back. I have some 20 and 30 here when i get the itch to do it. They tell me the diff grease is black....not quite as helpful.

I would go light oil in a lightweight car too but I did not want to mislead you. Kyosho run great with light oil in them. 👍

Black grease... replace with SuperLube.
I have good luck with SuperLube. 🤞
Ppl like Mobli 1 Synth grease too.

I haven't used the Mobile stuff on rc. I think its the red stuff ppl like.

See if you can figure out where the leak is and if you can resurface or install a gasket or otherwise seal the diff.
Maybe orings. 🤔

I expect some shimming where the drives come in may be in order

I saved the best for last. I also asked the tech team for specs on the motor. It's a 550 brushed 14t. To the answer of the question of how many poles the motor has so I know if it's 14t x 2,3,4, or 5...they tell me it's either 2 or 3 phase...no one believes that..
What Guage wire is used in the windings.....we may never know.

Track day tomorrow! Pulled everything apart to repack the diff tonight. There was enough inside I could have run it again without doing this work. The diff is huge on this, no complaints here. I discovered why you get better than average tools with this truck. Some of the screws you won't reach with std. Style hex keys.

Ic5 plug for size reference.

Awesome day at the track. Improved on my best lap from a week ago with some suspension tweaks. Last Tuesday was 18.9 for a hot lap, today 18.4 once, 18.5 twice, and below 19, 5 times in total. Same amount of track time.
I think I may need a 2nd 1 of these so I can continue refining this 1 as a carpet machine, and the other as a genuine dirt truck.
Also had some new stickers made up. Inspired by the mini b brushless conversion, had it on the GPS and while it touched 26mph one time. I sent it many times and it came back 25mph flat from that point forward. Put one on the top of the sct ...the imagery here is on brand with any of my builds ....so I guess my collection of 99 stickers will go to good use sooner or later, lol. It would be 100...but 1 escaped earlier today. It's now hanging out with another forum member here....

The more I watch the real trucks the more I'm convinced we need sct trucks....in a 1/10 scale version of the "Mint 400"
Brutal baja style off road time trials. View attachment 260859
I went with a Kyosho Mint Las Vegas. 🤷‍♀️😎😁
I'm glad you enjoy this truck so much! Great chassis! Makes me want to get my Gorgon out in the snow.
🥶😎👍

Am working the ebay make an offer button trying to get myself a 2nd 1. Great platform. You got lights on that gorgon...maybe a little night time snow bashing is in order.
