I have gotten my fill of being run over by the 10th scale elitists and rentals at the track. It's time for a change. Grabbed an Aarma Fury yesterday!! Never owned any Aarma products before, and so far it's impressive. Built like a tank!!

550 brushed motor, I believe 14t, unclear how many poles.
I added an xt60 with gold pins to connect the motor wires and shortened the esc wires about an inch and 3/8. Better conductivity with less ripple.

I also popped the cover off on the gear side and added some oil to the bearing on the motor there, and on the back end. Then proceeded to do a mostly slow but varying speed breakin for about 20 minutes.

No capacitors on the motor from the factory. I am also not adding any this time....because I went with a massive 4s capable cap bank in line with the battery cables instead.

4 perfectly balanced wheels, and a little something on the side walls of the front tires to reduce grip and avoid some traction roll.

I'm not sure how well it will perform on the offroad carpet track without some different tires and probably some suspension tweaks....but I guarantee you I'm finally going to have the fun the guys at counter tell me I should when I pay them for the track time.

There is a lot advertising and youtubers talking about how rc brings back memories.....well...I started wrenching on cars early in life. Every garage my buddies and i worked always had a $200 beater out of the junkyard getting stripped of the glass and adding roll cages in prep for the demolition derby at the local track 2 towns over. Those were good memories and we can relive them anytime, lol. Like tomorrow for example.

This made me LOL for real! 🤣

Cracking Up Lol GIF

I think its the same chassis as the Gorgon. Buy a new servo, then beat on it until the batteries die or the other cars on the track do!
I'm not a HH fan so not an Arrma fan really too but I 10000% LOVE my Gorgon! Blown servo and all! 😍👍

Do you think I can talk them into a nice feel good sound track to go along with the fun times...

This is an aspect of RC that Id like to see come to fruition. RC derby!! All the fun of a real derby but no whiplash.

My experience says that game is already on. While the majority of folks I have met down there seem pretty great, there are enough jerks for an impromptu derby at any time. Lol

Will this be spec class racing? The demos back in the day would have special races if a major company decommissioned a fleet of something. There was the school bus demo, and ambulance demo etc depending on what was available.
Those would be cool. The school bus races are nuts!

This would be my pick 😉

It’s been a thing for a while! And it looks fun as you can imagine it would be. They run thin aluminum bodies on short course chassis. There’s a guy I know who hosts a small club in VA and they run more power and a larger track than the video below, but this gives you a good idea of it:

Pretty cool. But that soffit aluminum they are using is a bit heavy for the scale. Thatssome tough stuff. They should be using pop cans 😄

I expected cans until I heard them start hitting. Def NOT just cans!
10lbs cars... I'm glad they kept speed down. I wouldn't want to get hit by one of those things!!! 😲🤕

That was a fun race. 👍😁

This is kind of a free for all format which is interesting. I like a derby figure 8. Constant movement with the real danger of getting tboned every time you cross the mid line, lol

There comes a point where terrible puns are called for, and a fella should be aware of it. It's 5am, and I'm soon to be charging batteries for the murder truck getting ready for a fury-ously good time.
