I have gotten my fill of being run over by the 10th scale elitists and rentals at the track. It's time for a change. Grabbed an Aarma Fury yesterday!! Never owned any Aarma products before, and so far it's impressive. Built like a tank!!
550 brushed motor, I believe 14t, unclear how many poles.
I added an xt60 with gold pins to connect the motor wires and shortened the esc wires about an inch and 3/8. Better conductivity with less ripple.
I also popped the cover off on the gear side and added some oil to the bearing on the motor there, and on the back end. Then proceeded to do a mostly slow but varying speed breakin for about 20 minutes.
No capacitors on the motor from the factory. I am also not adding any this time....because I went with a massive 4s capable cap bank in line with the battery cables instead.
4 perfectly balanced wheels, and a little something on the side walls of the front tires to reduce grip and avoid some traction roll.
I'm not sure how well it will perform on the offroad carpet track without some different tires and probably some suspension tweaks....but I guarantee you I'm finally going to have the fun the guys at counter tell me I should when I pay them for the track time.
