Hi , I got this car 2days ago for $50 I took it to the local hobby shop to get it running (since I don't have the tools and know how ,was sitting for 2-3 years ) and now that is running I'm gonna clean it and fix it up myself ...but I don't know what it is can anyone tell me ? I was told is a 1/8 scale but I don't know from what ,thanks for the help

Another question ... I'm taking the car apart to clean it .... What kind of product(degreaser) do I use to clean engine (external) and the servos ..previews owner didn't clean it and is disgusting

I use Simple Green and water then thoroughly dry the motor. I'd wipe the servos with a clothe dampened with the same stuff. Never immerse servos. They tend not to work afterwards.

Just be carefull of the direction you are blowing, dirt particles can when moved by high volumes of air get into places where they dont belong, lol

I wish I had a compressor but in live in an apartment lol ...I'm gonna use a hair dryer hopefully it works

Lmao.......I have a friggin workshop in my apartment man, my ol lady hates me for it I think,..as long as I dont break out the welder inside she usually doesn't have a fit

I don't have my full-sized compressor in my apartment, but I do have a small airbrush compressor.

Damn you're lucky lmao .... My neighbor from downstairs is my landlord and I don't want to bother him since he let me work on my car in his backyard

How loud is it ?

You can get compressed air in a can most hardware stores carry it works well when you can be bothered breaking out the compressor

We have something in common...my downstairs neighbor is my landlords ex wife and she is always barking up his tree

It's quieter than my vacuum cleaner. It's quiet enough that I can think while I paint sitting next to it.

Ok so Saturday I made a rookie mistake .i started the car with the throttle wide open and the car took off on me and crashed lol.i damaged the wires from the servo to the on/off switch and now I have no steering ...now where can I get those wires (online)and what's the proper name for it ?

Thanks

:hehe: Nothing to be ashamed of, I think we've all done the same thing one time or another. So, rule #1 from here on out, turn on your transmitter, turn on your receiver, test the function of your throttle and steering, then start your engine.
If you can start your car with the wheels off the ground or up against an inanimate object, that could help prevent runaways too.

Is your receiver damaged or just the servo wires plugging into it?

I think is only the wires that lead to the on/off switch but I'm not sure .... When I move around the wires to the switch (like trying to get reception for the TV with the old Roof antenna ) the steering works but then when I let it go I have no control (steering ,throttle )

I don't see any damage on the receiver btw
