Some advice on this engine?

I just bought a O.S. .15CV-X engine for my T-MAXX. I have heard good and bad things about it. One being that it's an easy tuning engine, the other is that it is not for "racing". Just needing some opinions or experience with it. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

i would highly suggest a OS engine for a newbie to nitro. its soo easy to tune, great amount of power for its price tag. I dont race my t-maxx so i wouldnt know what a OS engine does in a race. OS just came out with a new engine, a OS .18. maby u could try that. The easy tuning of a OS, but more power.

OS makes a great engine and yes, its easy to tune.
The CV isn't considered a racing engine but it will hold its own on a track. For the price its a good engine.

PS,
You will noticed how I call it an engine. In the RC world if it runs on Fuel its an engine. If it runs on a battery its a motor.

Hey thanks guys for the input! I'm not a newbie to the R/C scene, just haven't stayed with it and am not sure what I need to win a couple of races. I am hoping that as long as I drive half way decent that this motor will serve me well. Oh and notice no more "motor". lol

You will like that mill.

I still stand behind OS. Yeah, you wont get as high of an RPM rating as others, but, it will be RELIABLE and get you through the mains.

Is this engine a straight "drop-in", engine mount(from the stock T-maxx .15) and shaft.? I can't wait to try it out at the track. :D
thanks

I ran one in one of my Ts, it is a great engine for the money. Very easy to tune, holds a tune, and had a nice amount of torque. I was very happy with mine. I have an OS .15 CVX Hyper in it now, its been a great engine too.

Which pipe do you recommend for this engine? I was thinking the modified Traxxas pipe for the 2.5 engine. Will this fit on the CV-X?
thanks
