i removed this engine from a XTM mammoth and i haven't had a clutch like it, maybe it's 20 years old.
i want information about it so i can remove it correctly.

I believe that's an X-ray XCA clutch. Nifty if you can keep it working.
Very similar to the Serpent Centax clutches I used to run on road eons ago.
Great design - and very adjustable too...

Amain carries both - and neither manufacturer's current product matches my relics.

Unscrew this... it does have a spring behind it.
That's your tension adjustment.

the digital clutch tool is really needed to be precise with the spring tension.

I ain't never had no fancy tools like that, but then again, times were so much simpler way back then.

We'd just slap it together using needle nose pliers to set the nut and then run it.
Pull the engine and make an adjustment if we weren't happy.

TBH - I may have actually had a tool for the nut (I can't remember), but the 2nd part is true...

i'm sure more users of the centax clutch didn't have the digital clutch tool than those who did, i understand it can be adjusted without it and the digital tool reading is just a measurement reference.
i'll remove the centax clutch i have no use for it now and will replace it with a standard clutch.
