Hello, I have been looking for a second R/C truck (have a Savage25 for bashing) but am not sure wich one to get. This second truck will be a racing truck (1:10 scale, NOT a buggy), but I have a limit of about 300$ and it needs to be RTR. Later on I will upgrade it so aftermarket parts availibility is a must. A characteristic I am looking for in this truck is durability (able to complete races without damage), but performance is also important.

The RC10GT and XXX-NT are the ones I understand you like the most(in this price range), but how about the Rush Evo (2WD .15 engine) or MT2 (4WD .15) both from HPI?

I have almost decided to go for the RC10GT because of what I have read around here, but the Rush and MT2 look really nice and I know the Savage is of very good quality and since these are from the same brand I think quality wise they will be good.

Will they be allowed in the same class as the RC10GT and XXX-NT at races?

And what are the rules in this class (sportsman/stadium truck)? Can you have 4WD and if the engine limit is .12 why does most RTR`s come with a .15?

Thanks.

2wd needs to be in the 2wd class. If your track keeps to classes. For me I really like 4wd a LOT better than 2wd off-road, but that is just me. If you are looking for ROAR rules for these classes the information can be found here; http://www.roarracing.com/rules/

For me I would always want to wait until I had a little more money and get a little higher end vehicle. If I were going into the 2wd ST class I would want the Mugen ST, but the Losi and AE's are always a safe bet. Good luck in whatever you purchase.

For bashing, the 4wd is nice. I started with a xxx-nt in this hobby with no intent on racing, just park bashing. The 2wd worked ok, but the grass has to be relatively short. The xxx-nt is a nice rig and if you get a drake II kit, it comes with a bunch of upgrades but does require you to have the electronics (and maybe an engine, can't remember).

The MT2 is a pretty good bashing rig. I have it's predecessor the RS4 Nitro MT. It's less beefy, especially the front bumper as it doesn't really have one.

Stick w/ Losi or AE....more bang for the buck, better customer support and you'll be more likely to beg an emergency part from another pit on race day....

arrent most of the cars you are talkin about buggies? like the rc10gt and the xxx-nt. i knmow the hpi mt2 and the savage arent buggies, but all the other ones i thought were buggies. and he said he wanted 1/10 scale, not buggies. clue my in please. thanks

Thanks for the info and links, I think I will wait another month and get either the xxxnt drake or the associated factory or team factory instead of the rtr versions. Currently I am leaning towards the drake, I will have to look around and see wich truck has the most useful aftermarket stuff on sites who ship to Norway.

And just to repeat, the truck will NOT be used for bashing - ONLY racing.

I am a losi fan here, two memeber of phatlip has a rc10GT and a XXX-nt. I would of bought the nt but after seeing the GT, I would buy that It just seems like a better buy handleing it good in the air and on the ground. It could be the drivers but I think that they are about the same. But losi does come witha cooler radio

Yes the losi radio is a big plus, this is not an easy choise but I will consider every bit of info I can find until I am ready to order it. Thanks for your input.
