Hpi Savage Nitro trucks discontinued.... what now??

so I'm seeing that hpi is in the middle of new ownership and they are focusing on electric trucks, and discontinued the savage nitro trucks, so what are the good options for nitro now a days? i always liked the revo and savage but looks like the revo is also discontinued now. hmm id like to get another monster truck soon! any suggestions?? i do have a 2013 ish savage x i guess i could restore. or maybe if someone has a newer model savage x or xl gt6 that they wanna sell..

Electric revo and summit were discontinued. The revo 3 3 is out of stock until mid January. As far as hpi I'm pretty sure tgey still have the savage a d savage xl in nitro trim.

That og savage you have i would keep. I have an og xl o need to revive. If hpi ditches nitro it would be a sad day. I have 4 nitro rs4 to go with my savvy.

Traxxas also has a tmaxx 3.3. Kyosho has the usa1 in both trims. @Beer_Goggles_RC has one.

oh is that what it is? ok cool. i just sold my big block revo and i thought i shoulda prob kept it after i heard that. i will keep an eye on that.. the tmaxx is probably gonna be the one i get. i could make it a big block i guess.

Where'd you see HPI is under new ownership.

All that comes up for me when I google it is The Vestergaard Group buying HPI in 2019.

Parts availability for both the Savage and Revo is a big reason why I continue to run both.
In light of your no longer owning a Revo and you already have the basics of a fun truck in the Savage, restore it, especially if you are looking to run a big block.
Savages are made with big block power in mind, Revo's not so much.

Repair or make upgrades - make it your own and you'll save hundreds over that SBK kit.
All my Savages are older than your 2013 model.
Although so are my Revo's...

If you want something new and nitro, look into a truggy.
They're not MT's like you mentioned wanting, but they are a blast and there's better marketplace selection.

What needs to be done to restore your Savage and what are you looking to do (race, bash, jumps) with it?

honesrtly from reading your message you sound alot like me lol I've built many savages and revos tmaxxs over the years I'm just playing with options. i have owned a few nice truggies over the years also, i really am open for anything but your right the revo was designed to have a smaller engine lol. So really my savage doesn't need much, maybe just a new engine, a new body and some upgrades i guess. its been a really great truck i have owned it probably 5 times haha. i sell it to a friend then they lose interes in it and i take it back haha. but i do love my savages, and after thinking about it i may just rebuild the savage, although i just recently went through it put a new chassis and servos, I'm missing a few things so i may restore it.

If you haven't yet upgraded the steering servo - now's the time.
If you're still running on AA's, throw in a 6V hump pack or a 7.4V Lipo.
You could even upgrade the controller/receiver and still be ahead of the base cost of the SBK kit.
Any savings could then go towards the purchase of another truck.

Figure out what you want it to do and build around that.
Compared to stock, I gear mine tall and go for speed and handling.

nice I've built a few nice flm savages. been a few years. i just realized theyre done with nitro so it makes me want another one lol. i might just build mine. very nice truck
