You guys need to get your facts straight on this forum...

Thats a KYOSHO GP Spider Mk II. See kyosho on the front? That should have been a DEAD giveaway of what manufacture it was. The shocks, engine, exhaust, fuel tank, plastics... they scream KYOSHO. That car WAS great fyi... its not garbage/trash/junk.

17 years in the hobby for the win! I'd like someone to try to prove its not a spider mkII ;)

OK I stand corrected. its a japanese rendition
"1996 - The Nitro RS4 is released to eager hobbyists wanting to try something new. The Nitro RS4 was one of the first competition-level Nitro touring cars available"-HPI Racing.com

this car came out in 1999

I bought my first RS4 in 96 when they came out. I've been a part of HPI ever since. I've been in da hobby 11 true years of burnin, cleanin, sniffin, even drinkin Nitro.

all in all both cars are the same. I had many problems with mine having pebbles fly up into the belts and cause the car to stop suddenly. I believe the Vone is shaft driven am I right? the Next gen RS4 is also shaft driven which took care of the pebble woes.

I wish I still had my .21 Rs4 2, that thing was a gem

The one with all the stuff from Radical or wolf something? THe one you wanted to drop a TRX 2.5??? Yeah no idea why you sold it. It was pretty sweet from the last pics you posted on it.

Oh god no, its definitely belt driven (kyosho Vone). To call those cars the same... not even close in the handling category. MKII runs circles around the RS4 ;)

I needed the money because of a lewis county popo :(

Kinda funny how all Kyosho's are copies of HPI's.This one compared to the original rs4 then the vone/rs4 3.

Oh really? copies you say?

Looks nothing like the HPI. RS4 3 is not a belt driven vehicle lol. Heck, the FW-05 is kyosho's shaft driven car, and it looks nothing like the rs4 3.

Sorry,I stand partially corrected.Maybe its not the vone,I thaught it was but they do have a clone of the rs4/3,look it up,I'm not wasting my time.

Nope... way different vehicles there.

The ONLY things they have in common: 4 wheels, shaft driven, 4 shocks, engine, exhaust, bearings, screws, nuts, bolts, washers, differentials, 2 speed... and so on.

OK ,first you show a hopped up fwo5 and completly stock rs4/3. Even with the hop ups on the kyosho it still looks just like the rs4/3. engine just happens to be in the same place, tank, tranny, kyosho stock has just about the same radio tray,if you can't see the resemblance, either pull your head out your ass and upright yourself or take a trip to the eye clinic.

:bowned:

there is nothing the same about the cars! If every shaft car has the similar layout (and they do), does that mean EVERY company copied someone?

FW-05Tkyosho.jpeg

It is STILL nowhere near a RS4 3 LOL and FYI, HPI didn't set the standard on that layout. Kyosho pretty much pioneered that one.

Look at the suspension geometry... the RS4 3 has pogo like suspension. Not to mention... the placement of everything and CG is way better on the kyosho. The kyoshos... will do circles around the HPI vehicles. You want something else to argue? Then why does Associated utilize the SAME layout on the NTC3, just mirrored?

Everything happens to be in the same place? Well here is a thought... its how many touring cars are set up... how about a big Duh? Oh no... the OFNA CD3 is also planned out like that too!!! that must mean they copied everyone! Well guess what, its how the majority SHAFT DRIVEN CARS are set up. lol

OfnaCD3RTRSmaller3.jpg

So if you think they copied them... then i suppose you think everyone copied the 1/10 electric buggy and truck layout? I mean, all transmissions are in the back of the vehicle, the motors are back there too you know. The batteries go in the middle of the chassis, and they are all the same shape! The suspension arms are all similar, and so is the geometry they have set...

Lets move onto 1/8 scale... offroad. Kyosho has really dominated at the IFMARS, so I mean... everyone had to have copied them. All the differentials are placed at the front, center and rear of the vehicle. The engines are in the same place, fuel tank, exhausts, and so are the electronics, chassis braces and so on...

There is a reason that all the manufacturers use similar layouts when planning vehicles lol.

There is nothing more to say, you'll argue everything because its "obviously" the same when someone else has something that looks the same to you.

:hi:

And now here is something thats well deserved... An apology for being harsh in this post. My point has been made. :worship:

Wtf?

I never downed kyosho? Just said it was funny they had 2 cars that were very similar to hpi cars, and anyone who has read this can see my point. And yes that ofna is another rs4/3 knock-off. Thats not saying its not as good or better, OK. It just means the hpi was released first, Atleast AE was origanal with NTC3, the trannys in the back with the longer front shaft and backwards engine.

GO KYOSHO!!!:thefinger
