Don't stop the rambling for me. I like all the info!

Will do. I appreciate all the input.

Maybe I should have followed your advice to begin with!

At this point I'm just playing with the car, so I think the C.C. stuff and the excessive power will be fun. I'll likely get something more tame and race-friendly down the road.

I'm curious about how the Sidewinder will work with a brushed motor.

Yeah you should have haha

Sidewinder/4600 update:
The truck is an absolute blast to use with this combo. It has stupid amounts of power. Perfect for thrashing around, jumping, etc. Of course at first I only wanted to drive it at full throttle. It was great for power slides and such but trying to hit even a three foot wide jump at full throttle is like aiming a bottle-rocket. The more I use it the easier it gets, though. I'm still fine tuning my finger, but so far I have no regrets about buying this.

Update

well I'am going to be running this setup now in my sc10, a HOBBYPARTZ 13t brushless motor, and an Aeolian 45 amp esc

which turn motor did you get with your combo?

Also, keep an eye on your AI ESC, they are known to burn up and you may have to warranty it for a sphere... I've read about this happening on several occasions.

My ezrun motor showed up weks ago, I was just awaiting ofr the speed control to show from abroad, they are very well made. They come with full detailed instructions on how to setup the ESC(but I bought a program card from hobby partz),I have not been able to fart around with it cause our baby came 24 days early:thumbup1:..but so far I've only spent this much on a total brushless setup..the only thing I do not like about the esc is that it has no motor plugs you must supply you our. I just direct soldered the wires..

Hobbypartz 13t motor 29.00
Aeolian 45amp brushless esc 26.95
Hobbypartz digital program card 7.95

I'm running a castle 4600 18/76 and its out of control on a dry dirt track, nice pretty smooth for a sensorless too.
I guess it depends on what traction you have for how much RPM you want

I use a GTB with a 10.5 Ballistic. I would tend to stay away from something not name brand. You never know what you are getting into.

Whenever my rich uncle gets out of the poorhouse, I'm investing into a Mamba Max Pro with the 4600kv motor. I can adjust the settings at the track with my laptop with the Castle Link.

I run a novac gtb esc and a 7.5 novac brushless with a 2s 30c 5000mah lipo. its crazy fast.
