All my friends have hyabusas with turbochargers. They are really amazing bikes. 200-300 hp. And seductively easy to ride. But they can bite like nothing else. I have felt there power and I respect it. Other bikes like the one liter Honda twins are dangerous in the wrong hands. Those bikes I actually fear.
I ride a 70cc scooter on the street. After track racing I’m to nervous to ride on the street.
Agreed, modern litre bikes are insane. A mm too much throttle in a corner and you're gone. It's fun to watch somebody with the talent to control it though. One of my buddies, ex road race guy, modded gixxer 750.

I miss my CBR1000RR but I just can't ride it anymore. Had a GSX1100 back in 99 but the CBR was my fav. You definitely have to learn how to really ride. Its just like all these idiots who are giving the modern Mopars a bad name because they buy the 400-500HP cars and have no idea how to handle that much power. Thats why every other day you see one wrapped around a telephone pole. I've got my Challenger up to 700HP and every once in awhile that thing scares me and Id like to think of myself as a damn good driver.

I always wanted a trials bike, something I could throw around with just my body weight. Street bikes are cool, but I have never trusted other motorists.
Same!
I haven't been on a motorcycle since 1996. Also, got me a +$200 speeding ticket to go with that memory 🙄 Pic below is not actually mine, but it was the exact color scheme, but with a fluorescent orange windshield.

I went to the Isle of Mann TT. That is the limit of human abilities. No one rides a motorcycle like a TT racer.
I would argue that all the top-tier AMA, Moto GP, etc riders are all incredibly talented riders. What separates TT racers is they aren't on race tracks, and generally have no run-off room, etc, which is why there are so many deaths. That fact alone to me is what separates them from any other riders on the planet. They're just a little bit crazier than most.

I know the feeling, I got a wreckless Op ticket in my Challenger for doing 87 in a 35. The street was pretty empty and it was evening. I felt like it was shifting funny going in to third so I literattly just gunned it for a few seconds trying to make it shift hard in to 3rd to see if something was going on with it. Wrong place at the wrong time... Sherri f just happened to be sitting in parking lot nearby. $1250 in attorney fees got the wreckless Op and no seatbelt charges dismissed but I still got stuck with a 4 point speeding ticket that will never fall off my record and an additional $270 in fines.

Dude, when I saw those lights in my mirror, I was certain I was going to court. I had the bike up over 120mph down that stretch of highway, and only slowed down for the bend. The statie was after the bend. Fortunately, he clocked me at 80mph (in a 55mph zone). He also gave me a little break and said he was only going to write the ticket for 75mph.

My last conversation was with a nice NC State Highway Patrol officer about why I was riding wheelies on the highway. She was cool, I had a clean record so she wrote me a warning. When she asked why I did it more than once (didn't see her behind our large group of bikes WAY back behind us), I told her because I wasn't happy with the first ones. She laughed, shook her head, and said never, EVER tell a cop that answer. 😁

The track riders use 80% of there traction and maybe push it a little more. And end up in the kitty litter. TT riders probably get to 60% but don’t survive a mistake. They call it inch perfect. Pick a spot on the track the bikes will hit that wad of gum the size of a quarter at over 150 mph on every lap.

The death toll has gone down a lot in the last few years. Having met the riders and watched them. They have a focus and drive that can’t be matched. They are different but not crazy at all.

I respectfully disagree. Watch some highlight reels, they're both going at a 10/10 pace, using all the bike and tires have to give, and in some cases, more than it can give which results in either a miraculous save, or a crash. It's exactly what makes them the best in the world, they can extract every single ounce of capability from their hardware.

I've been an adrenaline junky pretty much my whole life. Perhaps crazy was the wrong term to use, but we're certainly wired differently than normal people. LOL

I get what your saying about the track. They definitely push the bikes to there limits and then sometimes bring it back sometime not but survive.
The technology and money from moto GP is what pushes things to advance the suspension, brakes and engines.
The two forms of racing are totally different. The TT is it’s own race for good reason.
As an observer Irish road racing is amazing to see in person. I hope it continues with the electric that are coming .

Agreed on all counts. I would LOVE to go to the Isle of Mann TT!

Come to find out theyre a lot more lenient about high speeds on the freeway than they are on Main st in the middle of the city lol

Bro, thats funny as hell! 🤣 🤣 🤣

This is me too. I've had a thing for high speed driving my whole life. My friends think I'm nuts and my wife will barely ride in my 700HP Challenger with me. I'm gonna start telling them, I'm not crazy I'm just wired different 😁

If you want to have some real clean safe fun. Look into one mile land speed racing. It’s in a number of states across the country. Two mile airstrip one mile of acceleration and a mile to stop.
fire trucks and ambulance on sight and a pretty good safety framework keeps people safe.

Texas ,Arkansas, Maine And Colorado all have tracks and events.

They do 1/2 mile for that even here in Podunk. The old company I worked for, the owners son has some fast toys and competed in those.
