have you seen any of the work by @Tunedfrog ? he makes them thangs
i tried to learn but the pads of my fingers are kinda pointy? and it made it difficult for me to hit single chords, always impressed by musically inclined people, its so creative!! literally making something out of nothing. blows my mind

Always sad that I never learned to play guitar. :(

Never too late to start, I started at age 60, can play just about anything. I have a fan club where i camp, music is a great stress reliever. I only play electric guitar, acoustic just doesn't appeal to me.

I've been playing guitar for around 40 years. I have an 83 Strat elite (purchased new), an 86 American Jackson soloist (purchased new), and a Les Paul Modern. My amp is a Marshal DSL with Celestion Ruby speakers. With the Strat the only things original are the body and the hardware, the pickguard and neck were replaced about 8 years ago. They're the 3 best shredder guitars made. Admittedly at 61 I don't do much shredding anymore but metal is still in my blood.

Here's a few of my axes.

Here are the two mandolins I have been playing on for the last 10 years or so. Mostly play the one one the right for the mellow tone. The one on the left has a little more bark in her voice.

I did percussion 20+ years ago in middle and high school. Took lessons for a couple years to learn rock and formal jazz on the kit. Had a garage band with a couple buddies for a few years and we practiced every Tuesday but never got a gig lol.

I've had a handful of kits over the years but I'm down to a beater set I keep in the basement for my kids and their friends to whack. I sit down and hit them here and there. I should play more. There's something freeing about making music...a feeling you can't really describe.

I play my guitars anywhere from 2 to 4 hours a day every day.
I usually play along with backing tracks because I have no desire to gig.
For years I've kind of been stuck in a rut playing the same ole boring stuff so last night I
started in a fingerstyle guitar course. Hopefully I stay with it because it's a whole new ballgame.

Have you heard of ultimate-guitar.com? They also have an app for your phone.
You can check out other people's progress and upload your own. Kinda like a build thread. 😄

Very handy, check it out if you haven’t already.
