I've been thinking and reading about 3d printing. Either fdm or resin which seems to be getting cheaper. I have seen people mention that some printed parts for rc snap too easily either due to lack of strength or flexibility. Do you have any thoughts on printer types or which materials are best for rc work? I am interested in 1:24 crawlers so everything needs to be quite small.I do 3D printing, but I don’t sell anything. I got an Ender 3 Pro with a direct drive mod and glass bed. It’s somewhat related to RC since I print out parts. I use PLA and TPU the most, I do want to print PETG, but I heard it’s not safe on glass beds. I will upload a photo of the printer once my print is done!

With FDM, you can easily print PLA, PETG, and TPU. ABS and Nylon are much stronger materials, but they are harder to print. It requires the printer to be in a more controlled environment, like inside an enclosure, and they require higher nozzle and bed temps to print them. And ABS isn't good to breath the fumes from. But I do know a guy that prints Nylon on a regular Ender 3 without an enclosure. The newer Ender series printers make this easier with their 24v power supply.I've been thinking and reading about 3d printing. Either fdm or resin which seems to be getting cheaper. So, is your hobby trying to be a hermit or trying to be teenagers illegally sneaking booze? As a couple couple you may remember, I posted in here that I like underground and overground exploring.
While I was out looking for potential underground spots, I ended up having to scale a 40 foot steep riverside/cliff area, and when I got to the top I found this short little cave that someone had cleared and stacked up a load of the stone. Even had a little cushion for a seat! Was a real surprise!
It's not even that exciting budSo, is your hobby trying to be a hermit or trying to be teenagers illegally sneaking booze?![]()

Dude, have you seen hermit cave strippers?Well obviously that cave needs a stripper pole!![]()
Fingers crossed for that mate hahaWell obviously that cave needs a stripper pole!![]()
Sounds awesome mate! We have a lot of rivers and streams that are culverted, they are cool to walk up but some you have to be careful as if it starts raining they can flood quite quickly! Many years ago I looked at the calendar and it was Friday the 13th and a full moon. I declared a night of BOLD ADVENTURE!!!
So being a city boy in Baltimore me and my boys went into the storm water drains under the city. Huge rain water runoff tunnels built after the 1904 fire that destroyed the city. First time sewer and rain water got separate pipes.
Amazing brickwork fascinating to explore.
Friday the 13 and a full moon apparently is a very rare occurrence. Every twenty years or something.
That's a cool read mate thanks for the info! Reminds me of the culverts under parts of Manchester!
