Hey Guys,

It was a beautiful Holiday weekend! Great race weather, awesome track conditions. I didn't qualify all that well, and I was having some minor technical difficulties but all in all a great day. Well I was just into the A main in UMT and something happened to my CRT. I went to gas the truck around the corner and all it did was rev up, no tire spin at all. Well I was like WTF! So the marshall handed me the truck and I took a look at it. It truns out the Mill shifted ever so slightly and ruined the CB. Damn. I had the locktite on the mount screws and they were tight. In fact I had to strain my arse off just to loosen them up to readjust the mill. How could this have happened with locktite on the screws and the screws tight? Any help on how to avoid this in the future would be greatly appreciated. It turned a great day into a bad day quickly. There is no worse feeling than having to watch your feature from the pits! Take care guys and I hope you all had a great holiday weekend!

About the only thing I can think of to suggest is, maybe the screws on the bottom of the chassis are literally a hair too long, and bottoming out before tightening against the chassis? The only thing I can think of to offer up to try, that's fairly cheap, is a set of screws that uses a shoulder/bowl shaped washer (I've no idea what they're called), or possibly even grinding the ends of the screws down less than a millimeter.

I dunno, did your new bride go with you? Maybe she walked by and shook everything lose, brother?

Just an idea...

Naw... Fatcheaks wasn't there.... she said something about all you can eat at the Sizzler. I haven't seen her since.

I had cart-wheeled it a few times, but not very violently. I guess that could have done it.

I'd say that's at least part of it. I know on my Savage a smooth looking landing actually knocked it just enough to mess the mesh up and chew a spur.

That's a bummer!

Yeah it sucked.... but you know what they say.... "If you aint breaking stuff you aint racing!" I have a new set on order... should be ready to go by next weekend.

I was racing the track behind my LHS down here in Southern Maryland. Doug's RC Raceway.

I finally ran a little nitro this weekend.
Stripped the spur in my Savage. A few pretty bad landings. Hobby shop is about a 45 minute drive.

Hey Dig,

Yeah man I feel your pain. After I broke the CRT down and got the clutchbell off I also noticed that my Spur was also toast. I guess the few bad landings finally took it's toll on me as well. It stinks that your LHS is 45 min away. I am lucky in the fact that mine is only about 12 min away. At least the drive to the LHS is a trip I love to take, so it for me it would make the 45 min ride a bit easier to take. It is still a bummer though. How is the family and the new grand baby doing? Take care my friend.

Hey bro, finally got to see my granddaughter this weekend. Just the second time I've seen her.
My son works days, I work evenings. Been doing some much needed repairs on my house and he has been moving. Hopefully things will start slowing down. Haven't even been on here much.

I have a hobby store about 5 minutes away, but I hate dealing with him. Fuel is $10 more on the gallon. Hardly ever has anything ya need. And he is one of those guys that acts like he is doing you a favor.
I would rather drive and help support someone I like. He usually has what I need and competes with the on-line stores. It's a nice little drive too.

Good luck next weekend bro.

Hey Guys,

I found out why my motor shifted on me. I finally got a chance to tear the CRT and get the mill off and such and I found two broken motor mount screws! That explains the shifting motor problem. Have you guys ever had this happen? It could have been worse though. At least the mill didn't come flying off! Oh well. That's racing.

Hey Digger,

Sounds like you are really busy these days my friend. I guess the warm weather has alot to do with it too. I know I have alot of yard/house work that needs to be done. In fact that is probably what I will spend this weekend doing instead of racing. I have some bank run to place to the edge of the driveway, and a power washer that needs some work. I also have the grass to cut and all of that jazz. We also have to meet with the caterer (sp?) for the reception party in August. Lots to do. LOL Hopefully I will get a chance to race next week. Well take care my friend, I hope all is going well with you.
