A bit dirty and certainly enjoyed by its prior owners so no need to be too worried about giving her a bit of freshening up and giving her a run or 10 before mega-resto and shelf.
Maybe I'll love running too much to shelve her?🤷‍♂️

OMG - Look at that screw-top Nitro tank cap!!! Wow..... So VERY Cool!!
 
I met John and picked up the Mugen last night, and I'm blown away. Aside from the landing scrapes on the bottom of the chassis, the car looks brand new. All of the fasteners are tight, the diffs are butter-smoove, and everything is spic-n-span clean. I don't even think it's been on its lid before, since I found no evidence of road rash on the wing tips or body. He also threw-in a throttle servo and a complete set of practice wheels (some older semi-worn street treads).

I also came clean to the wife about the purchase, and she was cool with it. "As long as you're going to actually use 'em, rather than leave 'em in a box in the garage..." I guess she's finally realizing the value of 'keeping me out of the bars' some of my hobbies have. :D:D:cool:

I feel you on the last paragraph-she sounds like a good one! That was always my reasoning with any girl I was with at the time that didn’t appreciate my interest lol..

Yeah man-that thing looked very well maintained, and not just thrown together junk. He also wasn’t trying to get rich off of it, which speaks volumes about the guy. I actually saw it on a group or two on fakebook. 😎
 
He's a good dude - totally cool to meet in-person. I can't wait to get both the Mugen and Nitro Hawk out there to see if I can drive off-road worth a sh!t or not.

After he hooked me up with the extra bonus goodies he threw-in last night, one of the other STR members hit me up on FB Messenger congratulating me and thanking me for keeping the Nitro alive, and if there's anything I need to just let him know. It's almost like this deal is a gift that keeps on giving... but in a good way - not like herpes.
 
I didn't buy anything, but my roommate had something show up today... Doggo for scale. Box is HEAVY. 50(ish) pounds. I'll let y'all take your guesses on what's in the box. 😂

I'm really excited to see it in person, I've been staring at it since noon trying not to commit a federal crime and take a peak. My 5b should be here next week, but I'm more excited about getting to lay my eyes on this one considering the size. He definitely went over the top on this purchase, we'll have to see how well this one holds up. Should be a fun summer for sure...
