Today, I painted wood grain on the bed of my new crawler body. I know I made the process much more extensive by only painting that first, instead of doing the whole body in steps, to avoid all the masking and unmasking but I haven't decided on a color yet or if I wanna do a two-tone or not. But thats OK, I have nothing but time

Furitek Stinger Brushless system for my 1/24 . Not sure if I'm going to put it in the Deadbolt or the new rock racer I am building.
You ######! So jealous! The SCX24's are next on the upgrade list. I have a bunch of parts already accumulated. But can't swing the Furitek stuff yet.

I'd put the Stinger in the rock bouncer - 100%. That is what it's for with that high KV motor. It comes with that new micro Komodo right?

Yeah, I was checking my Deadbolt out a few minutes ago and I'll get a conversion brushless kit for it and use the Stinger in the bouncer.
This one was spendy but blame the wife, she said get it...;)

Yes on the Komoto.

Package includes:

  • 1 x LIZARD PRO 30A/50A BRUSHED/BRUSHLESS ESC FOR AXIAL SCX24 WITH FOC TECHNOLOGY
  • 1 x Bluetooth module
  • 1 x Micro Komodo 1212 3450KV brushless motor
  • 1 x 11T 0.3M CNC Brass Pinion
  • 1 x CNC aluminum motor mount

Yeah, the regular Komodo is 1400kv I think. That thing will haul some butt.

I'm going to put the baja engine on hold right now because it's over $300. I will order my axles and tranny for the bouncer.
Awesome. I might build a 24 bouncer too and join the club. But I am slowly gathering parts for a ridiculously expensive build of a 24 I am dubbing La Cucaracha

I didn't know people were coverting 24s into bouncers. Is there a build thread on one?

@Xraycer has done one, @Doom! has done one, and another guy on here has one that I know of. But if you mean full on speed demon type rock bouncers, I think our bro Tunedpipe here may be the first to build the real deal on here with that Stinger setup from Furitek. That mini Komodo motor JUST came out. There was a pre-release vid done by a guy on YT not long ago if I remember correctly.

I think the most enjoyable thing about this build is the fact there isn't an instruction manual to show the way. This is a shot in the dark and I crave that.
I would love to see a build list of all the parts needed to build one. And some pics of the build. I did a forum search for " scx24 bouncer" and no results were found :(
custom builds are right up my alley and I'm having anxiety because I don't have enough info on this

I can understand why there isn't any instructions. There's just so many configuration choices. The chassis is geared towards people with at least some rc experience and some mechanical know how.
It is initially daunting to see all those parts, but it's only because they provide a ton of extra parts. Only a fraction of the parts are really needed. IMO it's actually a lot easier than it seems.

I'm enjoying it.

There is several videos on youtube for this. Most of it really is a shot in the dark but that's the challenge of it. As @Xraycer mentioned, it really isn't as tough as it looks.

Ok, here is what I would use if I were to build one. @Xraycer can chime in on this if he has any changes he would make. Keep in mind... cost is no object here. If I build this, it will take me a year to finish it more than likely.

Chassis: Showtime by Gamyrc. I would also make sure to get this in nylon.

And while there I would also grab some Deadbolt high clearance links, steering knuckles, Deadbolt drive shafts, shocks, +5mm hubs, steering link set, and the crossmember.

For steering duties, I would use the Ecopower 827, along with the Hot Racing servo mount.

For wheels I would go with aluminum/brass ones from Little Guy Racing.

For tires I would use Trail Kings from Little Guy as well.
