Have some parts coming from Jenny's RC... disassembled one of my Slash 4x4s, going to build my own VXL version instead of waiting for the factory model.

Yes, the new JATO 4x4 it is built on the Slash LCG chassis, I'm just skipping past their 2S version (better drivetrain like the VXL will come with), and mine will have aluminum shocks as well.

Losi shocks are on the way in that order.

Same length (~100mm) front and rear on the JATO.

Finally got some time to work on it today...

Shock towers and 'bumpers' in place, A-Arms and shocks tomorrow.

Got a bit more done today, before the wife dragged me away from my room.

Didn't notice until today that the body didn't have the clipless mounts, so will have to wait for those.

17mm hexes should be here in the morning, so I can get the wheels on it then.

Very nice build, gonna be a good one. Having a hard time not wanting a Jato 4x4 even though I have a Typhon 6S that (in theory) should be betterer. But something about it…… AHH.

You should put Bandit stickers on it cuz it SHOULD have been the Bandit 4x4 (in my opinion).

Wheel hexes came in, but the wrong ones... these are for the smaller axles of the original Slash platform, not the larger diameter axles in the EHD models... so may have to stop by the factory store on my way in to work on Monday... sucks to have an excuse to do that!

Neat project, I thought about buying a Jato 4x4 the BL-2s one as a roller and putting my own electronics or convert my Slash 4x4 Ultimate into one of those. I think it's an interesting "entry level" 1\8 e-buggy even if the name is controversial but i've started to grow on it. And it's got Slash\Stampede\Rally\Rustler 4x4 rots to it along with the XHD parts so it's super durable unlike the older models were. Good luck on your project.
