44 gauge wire is .0022 inches in diameter. it's hard to see, hard to feel, and breaks if you look at it crossways. don't even think about breathing.
thread size is probably closer to 32-34 gauge maybe.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm having similar problems with a package being buried in the black hole that is the Seattle USPS Distribution Center... If the car isn't here tomorrow, Amazon refunds me for it on the 10th. I'm kind of hoping a it doesn't get here until after the fact. I just have to hope it doesn't hit Anchorage today, otherwise it'll be here tomorrow.

I thought $169 for the FMS F100 they just released was a pretty good price already. But, FREE is an even better price!
