well poop seeing this makes me think i’ll need one at somepoint too lol

I run my EB48 2.0 in the same condition as my SCT410 2.0, and it's center driveshaft is going on it's forth year of abuse. The openness of SCT's bodies is main difference, and I'm sure no matter what 4wd SCT I chose, the same outcome would happen. I did, at one point, consider a 3S roller platform to do a project with, but too much plastic to replace/upgrade.

I don’t remember which sct it was but when I was doing this 10 years ago there was a 4wd sct that had the drive shaft covered to protect from damage I wanna say it was a losi

Traxxas Slash 4x4 (HCG chassis) has a covered shaft, as do the Rapror R, Stampede 4x4 and Hoss.

The LCG versions (ie Slash, Rally, Rustler) are exposed.

Yes, indeed. Y'all right. There are a couple SCTs with covered driveshafts, but nothing that tickles my fancy. If someone puts out a decent kit, I'm all for it. For now, I'll deal with the risks.

My current 2.0 weighs in at just over 8 lbs. Definitely will need to move to a 3S powerplant to move larger 2.8" wheel/tires. Hopefully, a 3665 2400kv motor will be up to the task.

I've run mine on 3s a bit, with the HW 3665 3200kv motor. It was awesome, but needed to be geared down a bit and i haven’t purchased the other motor mount to run a smaller pinion.

I aint pissin' around over $5, 'cause while I was on the phone with Absolute Hobbyz, the guy (Paul?) told me they were not getting any more G2/G3 3665 2400kv combos in... they are now discontinued .

Maybe the hobby shop dude was somehow misinformed. I really wanted to make a go of a Monster SCT410 2.0 and the 2400kv motor specifically. Because I like the Max10 G2 combos so much, and too many projects going on, my FOMA got the best of me. AMain Hobbies came through for me.

I got one from Hobby Recreation Products last week, but today they only show the 4000kv combo in stock.
