Worst possible place on a SCT body to put logo/brand/something to reflect upon. I'm sure four coats of liquid rubber won't protect it forever. :p

Front Sway Bar

After putting the front sway bar on, again, it's gonna stay on. Heck, I might even try a 2.3mm one. But first, gotta figure out the rubbing. I normally keep the end of the sway bar even with the opening of the pivot ball, but doing this leads to a good amount of rubbing going on the driveshaft.

I'm not reducing the amount of suspension travel so I'm going to try moving the pivot balls back first.

Shock Standoffs

When I went searching for possible longer shock standoff to use, I noticed part number TKR8727 is not on Tekno's website anymore. Those are the stock (what I would call the baseline "0mm") pieces shown below.

I went looking at different online hobby shops and Amain had the stock TKR8727 standoffs with "limited quantities". Made me think Tekno had discontinued the part. My gameplan for the future then became this..... TKR8777 (0mm) Shock Standoffs:

I initially didn't read the full description, but....
Keep your Tekno RC vehicles running at peak performance with our new shock standoffs. Instead of the previously used M4 nut, these standoffs attach to the shock tower with an M4 screw for improved durability. Our tests have shown them to be significantly stronger and more likely to withstand a direct impact. These new standoffs are CNC machined from high-quality steel and have a keyed shaft that accommodates the TKR1103 – Turnbuckle Wrench for easy installation. They replace the TKR8727 and require two M4x10 button head screws (TKR1443).
 :thumbs-up:

The tkr 8727 are the stock standoffs that come on the eb48 2.1. The other style are the new standoffs that come on the eb48 2.2. I was told to run the +2 on the front and the standard length on the rear. The +2 and +4 change the shock angle.

How Close Is Too Close?

When I started to change some worn out hardware on the SCT and noticed another area that has some super tight tolerances...

Slide it on over...

It's confirmed. Though not enough to concern me (performance wise), I know it's there and I got to do something about it. It takes quite a lot of force to get the plastic bushing to rub against the top plate, but it's plausible when "sending it" off of jumps and through ruts.

Just so you know, the cover is not sealed. Let's have a look at what has collected inside after a year of running. Not nearly as bad as last year.

I ain't gonna lie, that crap was caked on. Vacuum cleaner, popsicle stick, toothbrush, and rags... good enough for another year.

I have the same troubles on my terrain.
I mean, I wouldn't trade things. Being able to go outback to play with my toys is my 'happy place'. Even my five year old EB48 buggy's shaft doesn't show the same pebble abuse. I know it's the openness of a SCT body is the cause of this evil problem. I love short course trucks and I love dirt. I just gotta deal with the cards I've been dealt.

I highly doubt it, but maybe I'll look into one of them mesh covers finally. :p

Rust/Not Rust

Rear inner hinge pins...

I can sleep tonight knowing the situation has been diverted. I don't know what the situation was/is, but that brown mysterious stuff on the pins has been taken care of ☺️ Yeah, when arms don't swing freely anymore, it's time to start pulling the pins.
