The axxe definitely looks like a cool rig, can't beat that price!

I think any proper 1/10 shocks should work given theyre the proper length. Looks like theyre just 3mm eyelets which is pretty standard.

The rtr kyosho shocks and be a little leaky though. I found that they've handled pretty well when theyre full.

I'm a fan of the team associated v2 shocks. Easy to rebuild and are pretty smooth for what they are. Lots of piston tuning options. But you would need their little mounting assembly.

If you can get us the F and R eyelet lengths we'll get you figured out.

Thanks for all the help. I’ll give it a try!!!

The Sandmaster is the same chassis I think. Theres a pretty cool build here:

I love Kyosho! Stick around and post about your build!!! 😎😁👍

What is it about the stock Kyosho shocks that you don't like? If they don't leak... awesome! Run the AXXE 2.0 as is.

I don't know what type of budget you had in mind to dump into the platform, but even a good pair of shocks will run you about half the price of your ride.

Good luck.

Thanks, seems like the stock shocks are to bouncy Thanks for all the advice!!

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of composite/plastic shock bodies; with long suspension travel, for extreme off-road action. Kyosho's EZ series price point is for entry level fun. Again, as long as the shocks don't leak, I think I'd be trying thicker shock oil before giving up on them. I don't know how much you are looking to spend. I don't know if I'd trust a set of $26-ish aluminum bling "big bore" "high performance" no-name shocks sold all over the interwebs. I've seen/read too many horror stories.

Hopefully someone will jump in and has found cheap shocks that work well.

Maybe, @Ritz413 has some insight on what works in the Sandmaster 2.0's shocks.

What is the length of shocks you need, and the spring rates that are on your AXXE? I ask about spring rates, because that's another issue you may run into when searching for ultra-low budget shocks and wind up with stiffer units than you already have... then a possibility of having to search for springs suited to work with your ride.

Me shootin' from the hip/brainstormin'... eBay chop shop that has Team Associated RB10 shocks taken off new RTR platforms.

Hey there...only the back on my sandmaster was bouncy. 60wt in the rear helped a lot, currently it's got 70wt in the back and it's good. I have no issues with leakage on these, although at this point I have changed the springs to some associated front and back. Purple in the front gray out back, both are longer than what came stock.

Thanks. 3.5 inches eye to eye. Might change spring rates first.

Slowly getting the AXXE customized to the same level as the Sandmaster. Got the hoop fitted, will try to fit the light buckets soon. After that is the dual radiator fans and paint/reinstall the driver.
