Going through this a bit more today. Replacing some missing eclips on the pins for control arms, oiling bearings etc. Soon to move on to shocks. Coming along pretty good.
I found nip sets of crystals that say they don't work in equipment manufactured before the year 2000....what's up with that??

Y2K scare. They prob made a fortune selling 'soon to be obsolete' xtals to unsuspecting kids around that time.

Glitchy!

Just came inside from driving the rc10 around in the street for the first time ever. Huge thanks to @CertifiedMike for sending me the rx crystal. Not everything went perfect but I now know the servo, esc, and magnum Jr all actually work, and that's a big deal. It does suffer from an incredible lack of performance atm. That's a problem for another day.

Based on some quick research my current battery option may be to blame for a lot of the performance issues. Looks like I need a nicd battery, and what I have is a nimh which is best for long run time, but lacks in high discharge rate applications like power tools and rc.
