Looking to run a few Tamiya vehicles on LiPo. I have a Protek 2s Tamiya style LiPo pack but it does not fit my CC01, Frog, Egress, and Top Force to name a few. Any suggestions?

Doesn't fit due to physical size of the battery?

If you can't measure the battery tray, if you have a 6-cell NiMH battery, measure that and shop for a 2S battery with the same or smaller dimensions. Soft case lipos are generally smaller than hard case.

only other "shot gun" shaped lipo's i know of are the Reedy Wolfpacks.
orion made some as well, but don't know if they still do...
if you find something that fits let me know, the orion packs iv got are well over 10 years old at this point and i think 1 is starting to give up the ghost. need that style of pack for my Tamiya M chassis.

Yeah. The Protek is about 1/8in too long for C01, Top Force, and Frog. Its less than an 1/8 tall on the Egress and Top Force. Didn't know if someone encountered it yet and had a solution.

Most of the generic aftermarket battery vendors (Protek, Ultimate, etc.) make LiPo backs specifically to take the place of a Nimh 6-cell 7.2V stick pack, and they are always a smaller footprint for that specific pack. Grab yourself some hard, high density foam from Amazon, and cut it to take up the extra space in your tray. Pro drivers do this on the regular, and it’s commonplace.

The Proteks are too large in length and thickness. I'll have to see if the Wolfpacks are smaller.

Have you look at shorty packs.

This is one from Protek. There are many and less expensive ones too.

It is 2mm wider, you may have to give it a little bit of incentive to get it in. Then use some packing foam or something to make up the difference in space.

Are these like you have?

Thanks for the info. Using Deans/T connector so I would have to change the Ranger connector. Be careful or boom. Looks like the max length on the old chassis is 134mm. My packs are 137 mm. Looked online and couldn't find any alternative with the Deans. I tried my shorty pack, but the connectors are in the top. Will fit the the Top Force with velcro straps. Not so on the Egress. 3 friggin mm.
