So my question is this..
What's the best way to store your RC's
1.. On shelf with wheels touching the ground and suspension compressed
2.. Lifted off the ground, tyres not touching the ground and suspension hanging at full extension
3.. Lifted off the ground, but supported by the axles, so suspension not at full extension

I know there is no law on this and it all depends on your space available and the types of cars/trucks etc, my own issue is with my crawlers.

Some of the sort of things I mentioned above

My setup is a bit odd, so you get some of everything. I took an old pot holder and put my slash and RB10 on it, so they don't touch the ground at all, suspension free. My rock crawlers live on other shelved, but they are just on the ground like normal, so tires and suspension compressed. I do get flat spots in my tires, but for the trx-4, the tires are so crap that the flat spots come out by the end of my street. The losi I just rotate the tires to a different spot every week or so, it doesn't get used much. Trx-4m kinda just lives wherever it fits, usually below the 2 on the pot holder, but on a normal surface. I like having the car off the ground completely, but I know that's not always possible. Even in my setup it's not fully possible.

my general rule of thumb:
on road cars get stored off the tires and i don't care about suspension droop.
off road who the hell cares. is it ideal, no. does it flat spot the tires, yes it can. do i care, no. do the tires go back round very shortly after starting a run, yes if they're good tires. have i ever felt any long lasting ill effects from my madness, no.

I like dowels and a 2x6. I've had trucks on that for years. I put a little shoe goo on the top of the dowels. Once it dries, it keeps trucks in place when you put them on it. I also use Styrofoam blocks and just sit the chassis on it.

I understand the risks but I stand with @Suburban_Hooligan. If I can sleep in a bad position without problems then so can my cars:shame:
You stop it right now! Flat spots in your tires are no fun, the hobby is supposed to be fun. You straighten up right now, and stop sleeping in bad positions before I tell your mom! 🤪

I personally like to use either a stand or an old tire/wheel under the chassis so wheels are off the shelf. The scale jack stands are super cool, but I think more for asthetics than anything else. The rack systems are pretty sweet, and will save space. I dont think there really is a right or wrong way, as long as it works for you.

i sleep upside down and sideways folded up like a pretzel like every other normal person. if you can't handle that, that's on you.

Mine are usually thrown on a pile of junk to keep the tires off the ground.

Seriously though. If it's going to be driven in the next few weeks or so I don't care much. If they are sitting for a while, I just tip then on end and the tires are unweighted.

Anything thst stays stable with tires elevated.
Big stuff is on 6x6's, 4x4's, ice cream bucket, and a coffee can.
Minis sit on butter dishes or small boxes.
The tiny plastic box Furitek uses for their SCX-24 combos looks like a display stand under an SCX-30!

Just rearranged mine today, put a bar up since my fleet is expanding. Offroad I'm not too worried about it sitting on the chassis with a bit of compression. If it has tires on they hang, no flat spots or crushed foam for me. Roadcars are elevated. Boats and hoes.

Mrs Certified won't let me sleep standing on my head any more because of the flat spot. 🤷‍♀️
