Ok 39 now, have an old gas rig from 1986 a Vanning Presto, never did have good luck with it, 2 old Elec rigs, 1 old subaru brat I have beaten to death. Anyways need to start again I think, ya know the older ya get the more expensive yer toys are.
Have been looking at T-Maxx or Maybe a SportMaxx but really dont know, open for any suggestions. No real track running. Have a cabin and big driveway, maybe local dirt lot, ya know wherever I can find space, tuff probobly good, real fast not a big deal. Is reverse a must? seems like I always needed it with my electric ones.

Hey need ta spend some money help me out. Am serious and am asking the experts

WHAT SHOULD I BUY????

Thanks pro's

Stav:thumbsup:

well we just had a thread like this and a lot of guys were saying the HPI Savage was better right out of the box then the t-maxx. i have the t-maxx and a sportmaxx, i like the t-maxx because of the 4wd and 2 speed but i have dumped a lot of cash in it just to get it to my likeing. its really ur choice. if u got more flat land, u could go with a buggy.

Keep seeing the Savage pumped up, what about revers? Not standard with the savage? What money do you keep pumping into yer t-maxx? ahhhhhhhhhh desisions desisions

thansk for the input

Stav

buggies can run you alot more money in the start, but are generally much more durable than a maxx, plus they are really fast. Savage, is big, strong, fast enough, and unbreakable....

its realy just like ford vs chevy, ya know? I've got an associated rc10gt and i love it. I've got an old rc10ds and i love it too. i think I'm stickin with associated. if you want a mt, I've heard good things about t-maxx but i heard the monster gt isnt such a great truck. i dont have experience with buggies though, sorry.

i think the only thing stock on my t-maxx is the steering bellcrank and the bumper mounts but thats it, o yea and the tranny. everything else has been replaced. RPM shock towers, RPM a-arms, R/C Raven aluminum skids, R/C Raven racing chassis, R/C Raven Chassis braces, Integy aluminum bulkheads front and rear, WAS P .18 engine, RRP spur gear, LYNX remote, Novak XXL reciever, Hi-tec 645 throttle and steering servo, Dynamite steering skid, and other stuff i dont feel like listing. lol.

WOW Maxx trooper. Was all that by choice or massive crashes. Realy like the t-maxx but the savage still percs interest. Heard alot about RC10, hey they go wayyyyyy back, hmmmmmmmm still need input pro's

Thanks again

keep it coming

Stav

most of it was done to strengthin the truck up and to get it to the way i liked it. Like the handeling and and suspension and stuff. The only thing i think i replaced due to breakage was the front bulkheads(when i ran into a tree, and the screws kept strippin out), the chassis(broke the tabs off the chassis where the bulkheads connect), the skids(completely ripped off), and the engine(wore out).

rc10GT is more of a stadium truck. It depends on what u want... a buggy, stadium truck, Monster Truck, or a on-road. lol. its really ur choice.

i say get the savage, great truck and can be really fast if you put a bigger engine in it. the savage is very durable and i love it, here is my savage with some upgrades, go to my gallery and look :bunny:

Still early..... but my MGT is great for bashing I have yet to start replacing things. Several cartwheels at WOT and no carnage to speak of. It did end up upside down in about 12" of water, took it home disassembled the engine completely cleaned throughly back in and bashing all over again. So far a great truck!!!!!

After seeing the Savage run and take abuse, I'd say Savage as a first choice. Then the T-maxx.

Just uploaded some pics of the truck, body is got mud still on it, the headfins are kinda flatened out, massive wheels and tires. Check my gallery, you can see my 1:1 as well

Yeah I have only had it about a week and a half Still trying to break stuff, it has done a couple of cart wheels at WOT still no carnage to speak of.

She looks good. Keep us posted on how she handles. I'm about to buy a Mammoth by the end of May.

I was looking at the XTM and I must say that I was truely tempted. I like my NTC3 and associated has a good name so I stuck with them. Let me know what happens with the mammoth. Be careful of the outdrive cups I have read in a couple of mags that those are the only problems. Huge reviews on its speed and handling, everything I read you will be pleased with the truck

I read the same thing. I have to up grade them first. And thanx.

So now its a T-Maxx, savage or Monster GT. Seems my local Hobby shop stock parts for all three. Says he dosent sell as many parts for the savage and hasnt sold much for the MGT yet.hmmmmm

Guess leaning towards the Savage.

Do I need reverse or is forward fine enouph

Any more input would be great

Stav

if you're racing, reverse isn't necessary, but for bashing, i would probably get it. i'll probably get it with mine!

good luck! i'm goin the saveage route here in another month or so too!

Seems I will be as well, my local will have them in soon but figure Ill probobly get impatant and order online

Good luck with yers
