I bought a used Jato 3.3 from the F/S forum on this web site $150. It took 6 weeks to get it, Oregon to Michigan WTF... So i finally got it yesterday, it was completely filthy!! it took me 5 hours to clean it. While cleaning it i took notice of what was broken and needed repair. Lets start the list. Oh yeah i couldn't even start it until i went out and bought a new EZ start system. So he broke the rules of the F/S forum and sold a product other than stated.

All 4 shocks need to be rebuilt- $25
Needs a new plug- $5
Needs a new EZ- Start system- $30
Needs new tires- $50
Needs a new rear sway bar- $15
5 hours to clean- $50 (1 hour of my time = $10)
= $175
Total cost of the Jato = $325
New Jato = $350

Plus side
The 3.3 has a good compression

= Me not happy

Well seeing the guy hadn't been on since November 13, I would open up a claim with paypal. Anyone else know what he can do?

Actually it took about a month if you just got it. And to be honest I don't see where he really mis-represented it by looking at his post. He said he just got it and hadn't run it. Run it by a mod and get his feedback first.

Cody, I see what you mean, but he didnt say anything about it needing repairs or being dirty.

Yeah... that all sucks. Not a real bad price though @ $150.

I got a 2.5 jato over a year ago (I think that long) for around that. It was all stock except for RPM arms all around, filthy, but functional. Tires all bald, minimal compression, generally used. But, I still really enjoy it every time I take it out. New servos, different pipe, my own xmitter/receiver, pull-start (don't care for ez, so I took it off), new era 1/8 scale 17mm wheel adapters... fun little rig and way faster than I should be allowed to own!

Agreed but I looked at the pictures TWOCANE posted in his build-up and that sucker was already dirty as hell. The Easy-Start may or may not been an omission but a bad glow plug isn't a lie (happens every day). Nothing was really "broken" save for the Easy-Start...

Moral here is buyer beware. Ask questions and make sure you see good pictures first. You may feel let down but I really don't see where he broke forum rules...

i dis-agree! i opened a dispute with paypal and i am asking for $75 to repair and replace the broken parks. P.S. the shocks dont even support the car it almost sits on the ground. They need to be rebuilt or replaced. The honest person would have disclosed all of this information.

And a prudent buyer would insist on good, clear pictures before buying. Sorry to disagree but I understand how you feel. I was actually considering his Losi myself...

Anyway I wish you luck with your dispute. Also, you can leave feedback on his profile for others on the forum to view...

Unfortunitely Pay Pal will do nothing for you. If you receieved the item, they will do nothing at all. The shocks may not need a complete rebuild, they may just need to be drained, filled, and bled properly. Glow plugs go in an instant, your time, no way your getting that, hell I can't get that for the bodies I paint. Had you asked for detailed pics you would have seen the tires were no good, and no way in hell would I buy any rig covered in dirt where I couldnt even see what condition it is really in. Someone selling anything that is covered in filth shows their lack of care for that rig, and should send up a red flag instantly. Since he technically did not break any rules there is nothing we can do, but I would suggest you use the feedback feature to let others know of your experience in the trade.

what do you mean he did nothing wrong? He sold a rig that did not run and he didn't tell me that it didn't run?????????? Tell me how that is not breaking the rules. THis is a falsification...

Wait a minute, buddy. A bad plug and a starter that might or might not have worked doesn't equal not running. I understand your frustration here but I don't see where he broke forum rules.

He did say it was RTR.

I am not trying to argue in the sellers favor save to say that it is up to the buyer to make sure that he isn't getting hosed. I wouldn't have bought it if I hadn't gotten to see some GOOD pictures first. That is why I didn't put an offer on the sellers LST--I didn't like the far-away pictures.

I understand, I'm not trying to argue either. I guess poop happens.
