Ok guys, I'm converting my REVO to electric with a Kershaw chasis. It has, what I'd call, a saddle pack configuration so my current 4S packs are out of the equation. That leads me to my question, should I go 4S or 6S? I only have one other electric surface vehicle to compare, but I don't think it's a good comparison. (X-ray buggy on 4S). Which Castle set up would work best on REVO and which kv (4S) and (6S) would be recommended?

a 1515 with MMM is the route that I would go if you're looking at Castle. If you run it on 6S you're gonna tear up a lot of stuff over time and you'll spend a lot of hop ups more than likely. You can totally run a 1515 on 4S though and it would still have a respectable amount of power. 6S is like holy terror type power :)

The tranny is all RRP, to include slipper, and drive line all MIP

The stock diffs can't handle 6S very long, 4S they will survive a while if your slipper is not locked and you watch your punch control.

Diffs are E-REVO. Will that help a little on 6s?

I've not done an electric conversion to an Revo but I know on the one I did to my LST2 I had to by aluminum diff cases cuz the plastic ones just tore up after half a dozen or so runs.

I'm not talking about the diff housing that goes around the diff. I'm talking about the plastic part of the diff that the ring gear mounts to. The part that holds the spider gears inside of it. If the revo ones are similar to the LST2 the ends of the spider gear bars slide down into plastic groves on the sides of the diffs. those spider gears get so much toque applied to them when run on 6S that it will tear up those plastic groves. Thats why I went to aluminum.

Something like this. I've never used Golden Horizons before but I believe they make good quality aluminum parts. Other people can chime in about that brands quality if they want but thats the part I'm talking about.

I think the rc-monster one comes with a new 1/8 diff.....or else it's way over priced. On another note I like golden horizon parts, I put everything they sold on my savage 25

6S is just nuts. On 4s i would snap axles left and right on mmm castle.
I've got golden horizons bellcrank and man it holds up nice. I've broken a few stock ones
