RC Goals for 2026

My ebay bargain of a losi desert truck arrived the other day. After searching around for the parts to make it whole again I have declared a parts truck. Everything is the same on my v1 mini t except the chassis. Moved the combo esc into the v1. That 1 someone had cut the antenna short. I solder a piece on that helped, but this 1 is uncut, and uses a 3 wire servo instead of 4. Now I have a complete truck, with spare shocks, control arms, servo saver, motor and trans, etc. Another step in the right direction. With the huge bonus of being able to give it more run time without worrying about what happens if I need parts.

Getting close! I have 2 left to sort out and my entire collection is 100% running. Just grab anything, Chuck in a battery and send it. Now if I just don't buy anything else before I get there.....
Who else is actually making real progress on their goals for the year??

You funny, funny man!!! 🤣

I have purchased another 5 Kyoshos since my 'resolution'. 🙄

I might have a problem. 🤔

However, the shop IS movng forward. Paint IS going to happen soon. I will be sanding by next week.
The shop has been taken apart and all RC work halted.

2 of my broken winter beaters are fixed up and running well. 👍

Progress is being made depending on your perspective. 🤷‍♀️🤣

Continuing progress on the Senton Boost 3S adaptation to a speed runner. Making stable passes at 50mph (80kph). That's at 80% THR throttle setting. Senton's 60mph (100kph) goal is doable on 3S with the current set up.

Thinking now of going 4S once the Senton 60mph / 3S goal is achieved. Actually, the car is capable. It's the driver that is in question. Speed running is a perishable skill. Working back up to it slowly. Cheers. -AC

My goal will unfortunately be the opposite of most. I plan to do a bit less RC and transition over to 1:1. I have had this Isuzu Trooper down for a handful of years now with zero ambition to complete the motor swap, install the lift kit, and get it road worthy. Mid-way through the project I realized I don't actually like working on cars anymore. I want it done and I need it done, I just don't want to do the work.
If I did somehow have time for both, I would actually like to step up my youtube game. Youtube takes a crap ton of time though.

Please tell me it's the trooper with the tip-o-meter on the dash. Just a liquid filled compass with degrees of tilt that tell you when you will roll over. And a disclaimer that says only accurate when at a complete stop..

I'm going back to a 1:1 hobby car. A carburetor, a manual transmission & a V8. Like the old days. And daily it. RCs have not had my attention since mid December. Lots on the bench to work on. Lots of parts sitting. New Castle motor & ESC, etc. Just lost interest. It'll be back around though.

Sometimes you need a distraction for a while. 🤷‍♂️ what do you have in mind for your 1/1?

None of that if you aren't a complete tool behind the wheel. I have certainly never rolled it. Even with a dog of a motor (that 2.8L 60 degree s10 motor), it will go anywhere your Toyotas, Broncos, Jeeps, and ridiculously sky-jacked F250's will go and more. I have been there to prove it. So yeah, it's a Gen1 roll over machine allegedly.

But my RC goal for 2026 is to break 100mph w/ my Limitless. Maybe 120. PB=90. All my other rigs, just bash em. I have a Castle system for my Infraction. Goal? Burn tires & drift, then crash. Crawlers? Found an excellent county park w/ rocks & water that allows RCs. Run the Talion more.

Oh!! And build a makeshift road course for the Typhon GT. Found a big parking lot at a business complex that is closed on Sundays & said they didn't mind if I ran or crashed my RCs on Sundays in the parking lot. Found some 5" cones to make a autocross type layout.

That looks older than mine! That is actually kinda cool, I have never seen that.
It's totally useless, but hysterical to watch bounce around everywhere as you go. Great memories fishing with my buddy way back laughing at this thing on the dash as we went through the trails to the river.
