I don't want to derail the thread, but do you have a spot where you get them from? YT? Tubi?
I grew up on that show! I remember sitting in my bedroom with my b/w with rabbit ears tuning in at like 10:30 pm LOL

I watched them on netflix most recently but honestly has been a while.
I catch marathons and such too.

MeTV plays an episode every night AND Alfred Hitchcock is on after that!

A boxed set would be great!

Never got into the twilight zone....I like my vintage TV in the form of MASH reruns. It is pretty great the old stuff is available to binge on demand at thus point.

I have been watching Twilight Zone episodes since I was a kid. I never get tired of them!

Funny I remembered the title correctly and everything!

Its one of my favorite episodes too.
There is a kid in all of us , and one of the ways he comes out is by doing things like RC planes and trucks . It's good for people such things . I am looking forward to getting my Ford F100 and bashing around the yard a bit !

I get them on the Syfy channel through directv. I find the show and record the series . I did this about 2 weeks ago -ish and now have 99+ episodes waiting for me . That also takes me back to my younger days as well , they are in black and white which I think is around the 1960s .

My FMS F100 came via UPS today , and it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun . I will be out golfing today so I won't be able to try it out today but hopefully tomorrow. They ship the Lipo and charger separately via Us postal, and it's supposed to come today but mail hasn't shown up yet . Here are a couple initial pictures :

Well I got the Beast started up today and took it for several laps around the backyard , and I need to make some adjustments to the steering and throttle levels, and get a little more coordinated on using them. I understand there is a 50% throttle which I am going to set it to , and I think there is also a steering trim ? When I am gassing it a little bit , I have a hard time keeping it straight because the steering is so sensitive . What a blast it was just trying it out for about 10 minutes , I can flip this thing completely over with full throttle , it doesn't have any problem popping wheelies on the grass . I didn't have the roll bar mounted yet , but I'll get that set up as well so I don't roll it over from front to back . The Cottonwood trees are dropping all that cotton now so it is really getting into the axles and wheels , and other places. I had to get the vacuum cleaner out and get it out of there . It appears that this is a great beginner truck, for the brief time I have tried it it looks like it's just right for me !

I have had my 2s battery on the fms B3 charger for about 2 hours and wondering how long it takes to charge them fully where the green LED lights should come on to indicate that?

Awesome!! The controller should have steering trim and another adjustment probably labeled d/r. The d/r is for dual rate and will change the maximum amount the wheels can turn for both wheels. The trim will turn both wheels so they can be centered and it will go straight. The wheelie bar is good to have on there, I run mine on the lowest setting. Am not familiar with your charger, and it also depends on the size of the battery how long it will take to charge.

I use something like this for lightweight dust and debris for a lot of chassis cleaning.

And have been running a charger similar to this 1 for years. Let's you program values for each specific battery, and will charge them faster than the std. Supplied chargers that come with most rtr stuff. Also allows the option to discharge safely if for some reason you need to. https://www.ebay.com/itm/8000047192...DW1kP1BZXt5e5SQgiioOrkMw==|tkp:Bk9SR4z494XSZw

That B3 charger has only 10 watts of power. It will take almost 4 hours to fully charge a 4400mAh LiPo battery (assuming from FMS's RTR package). In order to do standard "safe" 1C charge rate on that pack, you'll need a charger with at least 37 watts of power.
I didn't see anything about charge rates in the The Ultimate Guide to Lithium Polymer (LiPo) Batteries for RC Enthusiasts thread.
Lot's of great info from LiPo guide at https://www.rogershobbycenter.com/lipoguide/ but page is very heavily filled with ads. It didn't use to be that way until hobby shop closed. If you don't like ads, the linked page is not for you. Lots of good LiPo battery guides out there to read. Anyway...

My TRX4 eats grass for breakfast 😂

I think it depends on what you're looking for in an RC. Do you want a basher? Monster truck? Trail rig?

@CertifiedMike makes some very good points on things to consider.
My TRX-6 absolutely DESTROYS grass with the brushless setup. Anyway, on a Rustler VXL, I would recommend stock for now, and then changing to (if you want to drift on grass) RXT 2.8" Orange Wheels & Anaconda Tires (2), or you can use 5-Spoke 2.8" Black Wheels & Sledgehammer Tires (2) for bashing. It's your rig, so go ahead and customize it. Oh, and welcome to RCTalk.

I have been having a lot of fun getting used to coordinating myself to the steering and acceleration of my f100, and getting better at it. I have tipped it over a few times , knocked off the fog lights on top, but they snap right back on. I got two evenings out of one battery charge, and have this to offer as a question to anybody who wants to respond :
Full Charge = 8.47 vdc
Truck stops = 6.27 vdc
I assume this is probably correct , or expected , the voltage levels that is. On another note , I think this particular RC truck suits me perfectly, not overly fast , but easy wheelie capable for a good stretch . I got it trimmed down , both the throttle and the steering , and I could see how these vehicles could get out of control real quick if you're not careful . I am very happy with my purchase , and also with the truck's performance. Thanks for all the help everybody has given me to get to this point, I appreciate it . There are a couple parts that came with the truck that I'm not sure where they go , they look like pieces that match the some pieces that are on the rear suspension , they look like spacers or something that go on top of the shock absorbers or Springs ?

The pieces are preload collars to ad more ride height or less if remove them. Battery voltage sounds normal. Looks like your low cut off is set at 3.1 volts per cell. You want to keep lipo cells above 3v to avoid damage. Sounds like everything is going great. Just a heads up, you don't want to leave the battery at full charge for an extended period. Charge it, drive it repeat. Sounds like things are going great!! I imagine you'll get 2nd Battery soon enough so you can drive 1 while the other is charging soon enough...it happens...don't fight it,lol.

I'm glad you are loving your RC! Sounds like you made a great choice!

Here's a link that might help you answer some questions and get familiar with some of the technology.

Thanks CM, I will do some reading,

I will heed your battery advice, thanks. I am also going to get a second battery , there is an RC shop, reasonably close from home, Larry's Performance RC shop.

The guy in there was helpful and suggested a second battery for me , and also gave me a little opinion on my battery charger . I have a multimeter at home, so I measure the voltage I want to see upon fully charged , and also the cut off discharged level.

Ok, I had a minor setback today. It started when i took my RC truck out on the black top road in front of my house . What a blast that was , and how much difference the performance is on blacktop as opposed to grass . Thank goodness for the wheelie bar , because even at throttle back power it could probably flip over backwards if the bar wasn't there. The setback occurred when a car came around the corner and I panicked a little bit and ran the truck into my leg, trying to get it to safety close to me . A photo attached shows the damage, and it wasn't to the truck !
(lol)

Ankle injury is prob the most common one in RC!!! You've been RC scarred by your RC car! 🤕🤣

Just be glad you didn't decide to try a gas powered 1/4 monster truck for your first!!! Lol!
