Ok, I had a minor setback today. It started when i took my RC truck out on the black top road in front of my house . What a blast that was , and how much difference the performance is on blacktop as opposed to grass . Thank goodness for the wheelie bar , because even at throttle back power it could probably flip over backwards if the bar wasn't there. The setback occurred when a car came around the corner and I panicked a little bit and ran the truck into my leg, trying to get it to safety close to me . A photo attached shows the damage, and it wasn't to the truck !
(lol)

If you haven't bled on it is it really yours?

This is why I always wear boots with 6+" uppers and jeans when I go to the track - has saved me from injury many times. On Sunday I would have got creamed while turn marshalling, but a fence post stopped the car dead about 2 feet before it hit me....

The last time I did this was outside in my driveway with a stupidly fast 1/12 scale buggy. Its lower so it got the top of my foot before it caught my ankle. :thumbs-up:

Those high ankle boots are a great idea!!! Muck boots might be the trick for turn marshalling. Neoprene padding built in!
Goalie gear??? 🤔 🤣

Ankle injury is prob the most common one in RC!!! You've been RC scarred by your RC car! 🤕🤣

Just be glad you didn't decide to try a gas powered 1/4 monster truck for your first!!! Lol!
I seen some 1/6 scale monster trucks at the hobby shop today , I can't imagine a 1/4 scale hitting me like my little F-150 did . My beautiful 70-year-old leg would have taken some real damage .

I've come pretty close to hitting myself with the Granite BLX at full tilt. 1/8 scale monster truck, full scale terror!!!

Gotta keep watching all the time!!! You never know when things might go bad!

I have a metal rod in my leg. At least I have some hope of surviving!!! 🤣

Never know indeed. Is it better to get hit with your own car or someone else's?

Thank goodness that little girl didn't get hit in the head with that car , that could have done some damage . The gash on my leg by my f-100 was not going very fast, but nonetheless it let me know ! I will remember that incident for future carefulness .

Can confirm....caught 1/10 scale buggy in the side of the head at the beginning of the year off a quad jump. Good times were had...no special medical care was required.

There used to be a huge double on the layout last year, and the ramp was so tall that you couldn't see approaching cars from the "valley" when turn-marshalling, so I hung a Pink Hardhat on the fence at that cone (nobody used it). Three weeks ago, during a Club race, a Buggy jumped the course/fence and crashed into the second row of one of our bleachers - good thing no one was sitting there! And lucky for the driver that someone "outside" could retrieve/hand the car to the TM on the inside....

Hmmmm, this might explain a few things....sporks anyone? 🤣
