Good Morning.

So I think I made a mistake.

I've been out of the hobby for a very long, time and wanted to get back into it. I bought a used Buggy thinking, hey if something breaks its hobby grade and I will just buy a replacement no biggy.

Well, the second time out, something did indeed break and I am having a very hard time identifying the buggy in order to find a replacement.

I took the car to a hobby shop and the owner had no idea, I've spent hours searching google, using reverse image search, and can't find a match for the broken part.

I was told that this car uses older parts and they might be impossible to find, I ended up getting a new traxxas slash, but I would love to get this car running again so my kid has a car to race alongside me.

Thanks in advance.

That looks super close! I was told the car was a LOSI, but I think the guy just kind of built it up from parts himself. It is close enough I would buy one to see if it fits!!

Now I just have to find the part somewhere ;p

Thank you for your help!

Thank you for the quick replies!

It seems that style of connector is pretty uncommon and has been discontinued for quite some time 7496 Front Axle Hex B4,

I cannot even find one on ebay, I may have to get creative to get it back up and running.

You've got four options:
1. Wait a while and search again on Ebay.
2. Buy a parts car of Facebook Marketplace
3. Sell your car and buy a new Slash or something.
4. Get a new part CNC machined.

Thank you!

I think this might need to be what I research how to do, otherwise even if I find the part it will be super hard to repair if it breaks again.

Just wanted to also say I very much appreciate all the quick replies here. I spent quite a bit of time trying to research this on my own before posting here and had become a bit frustrated since I couldn't find anything!

Glad to find such a friendly helpful community.

I suppose that is an option I could buy a second one for spare parts!

I also wondered if I might be able to use the motor ESC, and Radio with a newer model, like buy a roller and move everything over?

if the parts are even worth reusing

These guys show they have them, but I tried calling them with no answer. I also checked their site through Scam Advisor, and it doesn't show much either way. I emailed them to see if they respond.

You might try calling them here and there. It may be an old mom and pop shop, and they may not get many calls.

Otherwise, try to find a slider or roller on ebay for a parts car, or just keep searching there. You can save your search, so you'll be notified if anything pops up on there.

Hello WickedFog,

I know it shows them in stock but it also shows there are 0 available when I actually try and add them to the cart, maybe I will also try reaching out it never hurts!

I really appreciate the effort to assist with this!

I think finding a roller might end up being the best option.

I actually got a slash VXL when I went to the hobby shop and couldn't find this part and I am loving it, its reignated my love of just bashing around with RC cars.

Now I am just trying to decide what I want to do with this one, my kiddo loves running the VXL with me, and would really like to get it setup so we ca both run something.

The Team Associated RB10/SR10 steering/caster block and axle parts (shown below) should work on B4 arms. RB10 manual... HERE. SC10 & T4 owners have been using ProSC10/Pro2 SC10 parts for awhile now. Some slight modification may be needed to make fitment good. Just be warned, your B4 is a "4 series" platform with SAE hardware, and the RB10/SR10/DR10 are "5 series" platforms that use metric hardware and are based on earlier design. Very little parts from the newer platforms will be a direct fit on the B4.

These are from RC chop shop... https://www.ebay.com/itm/133910827573?epid=8051659562&itmmeta=01J2CWNZKYX27MRAAQ0QVSSC4J&hash=item1f2db51235:g:kMAAAOSwNHVhcd5X&itmprp=enc:AQAJAAAA0PK70n3V/JZUPWIMfpAcwnxdbcFyjYXtwLY7ykhLQhpXkiwOqxif0tXLf0LWkIDoGJAuYaRC4L1hxCuf8Vv0g5VocTusKCDq1aQpwenmjCpt7McPrDUoD72fWeSJ/zkV+YwRBKf0GgRbVoha2Cv/WopbAdXMx5wNbZ+BN5Dm4guIgWTRJy3T1jT/GY+VLpKeXbt9C/HSTF4DAhVoNFAhuo0gIHmVbGbqVzHccCpLWE301Z9kQXb8n/nGcP57RJEwVvOIxBv88kkwVdC17EOGdLM=|tkp:Bk9SR4T615yTZA

And also, the balls & threads on the ball studs (on the newer Associated platforms) are larger. You would need to take that into consideration and order new rod ends/ball cups as well.

If you do finally get your B4 up and running, it will be an uphill battle once the next part breaks. I probably wouldn't recommend dumping a whole lot of money into the B4 at this stage. Some people enjoy the hours and hours of parts searching during a restoration. I'd probably sell the B4 and invest in a RB10 or similar buggy.

Good luck.

Another option, if you are not finding original 7496 axle for hexes... https://www.customworksrc.com/product/front-hex-conversion-kit-for-outlaw-3-rocket-3/
