RC 18 t problem

Hi there. I have an rc18t that is stuttering at full throttle. I took out the motor and ran it. As soon as there is some pressure on the sprocket the motor gets real choppy. I tried a different motor with the same results. Could this be the ecs? If so, it there a way to fix or troubleshoot?

Or is the motor installed to tight to the spur gear and the stuttering is a failsafe so nothing gets shredded?

If you haven't adjusted the mesh before, you want a small amount of play between the pinion and spur gears (about 1/2 mm).

I'll try again this afternoon. The mesh seemed good. The vid was shot after the engine install. And the engine would stutter even when removed from the car as soon as I put a finger onthe pinion gear.

Mesh is good. Is the ESC serviceable? or do you throw it out and get a new one?
