i totally know what u mean about wanting to post a build thread as i did the same thing with beginning and end pictures...lol anways, i can't wait to get the slash and i almost got an scx10 back when i got my savage. i like the looks of the newest one out. it is sharp lookin!!!! take care and keep us posted brother

hey guy.... what body you going to do?

hey sunshine......I'm really not sure just yet. I was thinking about the Tamiya tundra body but i'm not sure that would survive a rollover when i am in high gear. I will probably end up with some sort of lexan body. I thought about a murdered out school bus. :D

Its going to be something different, i just haven't decided what yet.

wheels are in the mail.

I also went ahead and picked up the proline powerstroke shocks and a set of 2.2 flat irons.

$75 for 4 shocks really killed me but the one of the things i believe you shouldn't skimp on is shocks.

I have heard good things about the proline scaler shocks, One of my buddies had them and said they helped a lot...

Ok well it got late and i didn't get as many pics as i wanted. The quality of the shot went down as the night progressed. Here's what i did get done. My son did some quality testing before i started.

The truck the shocks, wheels and tires will be here next week. I need to find a summit transmission and then make up some maxx shafts. It will be a full roller hopefully by next weekend. After that i just have to save up for the mmp/21.5T and some radio gear.

I love the way that Axial included an almost idiot proof set of instructions in the kit.

Looks like your off to a good start and with your son taking care of quality control and testing it should come out great, LOL!!!!!!

Before anyone says it, there is a reason i didn't add in a crapload of aluminum parts, hardened gears and all sorts of other parts. The reason i didn't is because i always do that and then i get bored with the truck. I always sell it before i break it. I am actually anticipating some carnage and thats what i am looking forward to. I will upgrade as needed.
I also made the decision that i'm not going to run this truck in loose mud or water. I'll buy a cheap wheely king if i want to do that. :)

So far i love the kit and i am kicking myself over and over for selling the one i won on here. At the time i wanted a mud truck and i thought it was wrong to dump a new scx into the muck.

read the first post n00b.

the truck is going to run on 6S.

Well i am going to have to take an unscheduled 1 week hiatus from the truck. I am heading up to PA this week. Its 1300 miles. :)

I have been watching ebay everyday for a summit tranny to pop up for a reasonable price and finally today one was posted for $59 plus $5 shipping. I jumped right on it so now i have a tranny for the truck. The average price was 84 shipped and that was just too much. 64 is still steep IMO but a heckuva lot better than 84.

Next weekend i will be finishing it up as a roller. making insane driveshafts, mounting up the prolines as well as the wheels and tires. Just needs a body and full electronics to be done. Thats another few hundred so it will probably just roll around the floor for another month or so. :)

Ok fella's,
I just pulled the trigger on a Holmes Hobbies Torque master ESC and 14T cobalt puller. I just couldn't decide what to go with and it was driving me crazy looking at 1/8th motor setups. This is a trail truck motor and esc combo that i think will work perfectly for this project.

This means the truck is only lacking servo's, radio gear and a body!!

Damn this this is going to haul A$$, I want to see a video of this thing flying down the street on a 6 cell lipo.
