i put this in the body shop because it has to do with liquid mask.

i got the nice glass top table recently and i want to customize it a bit.. (who am i to leave anything stock!!)

i want to do a 1inch border around the outside of the table and i can do that with painters tape. but i also want to do a texas star in the center and i dont know if i can do that one with tape (i would like to do the ring around the star as well)

so my question is.. will etching cream eat away liquid mask? has anyone tried this?

I am not familiar with etching cream. Is this something that is rubbed on the glass? Remember that liquid mask is designed to stick during an typical airbrushing, but also to be easily removed with minimal effort and no residue. If you're rubbing something near it, it will most certainly come off the instant you touch it.

it is a cream. it looks very similar to liquid mask before lm dries. you let it sit on the glass for about 15 min and it makes the glass cloudy.

Plasti-Dip spray! That stuff is freakin tough bro! Put it this way.. I sprayed my 1:1 car rims with it last summer and there's been absolutely no chipping or peeling away. It's chemical resistant so I'm confident it'll hold up. You should be able to find it at Lowes.

Ahh...got it. I actually read up on it after I posted. My only concern is that you may wipe the liquid mask away when you wipe off the creme. How fast does that creme work? If it's really slow, it shouldn't be a problem.

it takes about 15 min or so if i remember correctly.

lesson, that is a good idea, i can spray the area, cut out the shape and then etch it. I'm also looking at having andy make me a vinle stensel to use.

the seal has to be really good on the glass, or the cream will get under it and you wont have good strait lines.

I've got my money on the Plasti-Spray Blake. That stuff has 1001 uses and I'm completely confident it will give you an outstanding result.

what colors are available in the spray dip, i would need something i can draw the design on and then cut it out
