Now I need to explore the effect of tires. These are very soft with very soft foam. I’m going to start testing portal vs straight axle after the rain stops.

O ya, this thing is ready for the comp this weekend. Drove over the corse and it’s very predictable and smooth .plenty of wheel speed without to much torque. I am going to run it just like it is.

Went out to the comp today. Finished dead last . Not sure what happened besides I fell off a rock and my body came off. I put it back on but it fell off again and I missed a bunch of gates. My servo went south but that was not really a problem because I made all but one date the second time through. Looking forward to the next one.

You are gaining a wealth of experience. Keep at it.

So the servo is a Reefs 444 and was in a couple different rigs. I put it in the first rig and it was ok but I remember wanting to upgrade. And I moved it to my G shot. It seemed It was like totally weak so I replaced it. When I built the Toyota it was a “good servo I had “ but I noticed it was kinda weak but I just dealt with it. Today maybe the temp but it was totally weak and would not even turn when sitting still. And when I turn it off it is locked solid. It moves when it’s plugged in, just no power. I’ll get a Raw 500 to replace it. The body mounts are long grub screws but then ate the body holes so I put in brass eyelets but then they are to tight. So I ground down the grub screws. The body goes on and off great. But any good hit knocked it off. So I need to fix that.
Third excuse is the tires definitely acted differently with the heat. About a sixty degree temperature difference than the last time I was out crawling. But non of that mattered because after the comp was over I ran the corse and only missed one gate. That tells me the corse was great, me not so much.

It was nice to finish ahead of you for once

I don't mind working on my crawlers, but hate working on my bashers. 🤔 Not sure what the difference is but it's true.
Bashers break more, my Xmaxx is always broke thats kinda why I got into crawlers. I've broke parts on my crawlers but not every run like my Xmaxx..
