So I've been browsing 1/10 crawlers and had seen that Element has RTR trucks with IFS.

Is this just for scale purpose or does it actually offer any benefit in the crawling world?

Side note, AE is offering a free ecto 24 with the purchase of a sendero. And my AE club membership has the sendero HD and knighteunner listed for 250. I'm totally not tempted.

I saw that the IFS is a little less capable but, there are some aftermarket/3D printed bits and bobs that make it a bit better (not better than solid axle just better than stock IFS). You won't know till you try it and neither will we. The sendero HD is a great truck.

I think the IFS is pretty cool. If your using it primarily as a trail truck no probs there. If you do some mild to medium crawling still quite capable. Serious comp style crawling, stick with a solid axle. The Sendero HD is a fun truck. You will need to do a little trimming on the wheel wells if you decide to get rowdy. At that price I'm tempted myself, except I don't have space for another 10th scale at the moment. :(

I built the gatekeeper kit back when it was available and put the optional IFS in the front. It just about made that truck look like it was made Trent Fab. It is definitely fun to have a IFS for a trail rig.

The knightrunner is really tempting just because of the body. The ifs setup looks super clean too with how it hides most of the steering components. The thing is, I'm pretty performance oriented, but also want to try my hand at some scale realism.

I guess I could do that with both rigs. But the IFS just seems to stand out

It really is, and it completes the look of a Gatekeeper and would give the Sendero HD a different look. I'm a sucker for the U4 look.

I had the trailrunner with IFS and put a Sendero HD body on it. I gifted it to my flying buddy, but miss the IFS. I hear the IFS 2 kit is an even better add on.

What about the bushido+? Looks like a cool little truck, but with the 299mm/11.77” wheelbase, are there any other body options?
Looking at it, its only .53" shorter than the regulart 12.3 crawlers. Thinking the wheelbase just looks so short because of how big the body is.

Probably could get a single cab without a bed to work if it came down to it

IFS is pretty cool and scale on some trucks, like the Toyota line of trucks, but for crawling it is a detriment. I feel it brings a unique personality to the truck, and I do enjoy driving them.
I agree.

I wanted to love it, but I found it frustrating.

First sign of frustration on run one.

I sold it at the beginning of summer.
It's for sale again by a different dude.
Looks like it was submarined; the WP Savox is gone along with the winch 😢

If you're performance oriented it needs IFS2 imo or just a different platform. The body also cracked all over the place. I had to shoegoo it before sale.

Sad to see what has happened to it lol
