So I’m not saying that I hate the IFS on my trailrunner but the clearance, as we all know, is very low. I was considering switching to portal axles, looks like the upgraded IFS2 is not exactly 100% trouble free.

Would these work?

If you have IFS, does your truck have provision to mount 4-links?
🤷🏻‍♂️ beats me. I’m trying to find out. I like it and all, but compared to the coyote…hmmmm.
Not sure I want to go through the whole “rethink” process. I might just leave it as is. I enjoy scale over performance in some cases.

Those axles should work no prob. I am guessing you would need shock towers, upper and lower links (pan hard link and mount if not going 4 link), servo mount, and possibly body posts. If not going 4 wheel steer, I think I would go for the Meus axles. I am not a fan of the Element rear axle, basically the front with the C Hubs tied in to eliminate the steering. This Meus kit has a dedicated rear axle. Plus is has servo on axle, included steering links. Dont get me wrong, the Element straight axles are great, I've been using them on both my Element trucks for years, just not a fan of their portals.

Thanks for all the info 🙏🏼

I put those on a Element Gatekeeper. Didn't care for the way the rear steer operated. The included spur gear fòr recommended reduction was the same as the stock spur so didn't need it. Good kit, pretty stout and the instructions sucked.

This is killing me. I love the trailrunner (Toyota fanboy) and while the IFA doesn't completely annoy me, I’m curious about the straight axle, we’ll see. TA is in Lake Forrest, like an hour from me. If they are open for customers I might stop by. I might get these Meus too…so many options.

Can you show pix of the gatekeeper?
