Plug batterie back

Hi i have a RC that add a 9.6 volt Lithium ion new bright battery but its not working anymore
I have order a nicel Metal Hybrid 9.6 volt battery and weld wire to the 2 pins and connect ,
now it runs for 3 second and stop , is there a reason why , thanks

Id clean those solder points and redo them. They look suspect. I'd also double-check the voltage on the battery, like TNT was talking about.

The melted wire insulation is not suspect..IT IS

I believe he was asking what the current voltage level is on the battery, not the advertised rate.
