Why did I just start smelling bacon and rubber?
Yep! Most aftermarket radio systems can run multi models, most have 10-20 or even 30 models it can individually handle. Some can handle like 200 for instance with the 8X.
My personal experience with RadioLink as a whole and that individual radio, If you were to go with it, I would be aware of the issues it has (and the issues that the brand has in a whole) and be aware that there are much better radio systems and brands out there are far much better than Radiolink.
Got the RC8X last year, (and matter the fact,
@CJSRCLIFE can comment on this as well) The radio was great for the first 2 months I had it. But out of no where essentially I started having issues, the radio would signal drop meaning it would cut out, and the failsafe wouldn't work so the car would essentially "freeze" for a second or two. Meaning if you were at full throttle and turning left and the radio dropped out the car would freeze that last known position, or glitch and maybe turn the steering the other way. I was one of the first people to notice the issues, not many days later, bunch of other people started having the same issue. We tried to help each other. Tried to get RadioLinks help and they would not acknowledge the issue and help us so they left us stranded essentially. This went on for more than 6 months. After all of that and the issues still going on they were blocking people from their pages and help groups, and censoring their help group on Facebook for any negative comments about their radios or them not helping. Since then I got rid of the radio and went and got different radios which are amazing and those brands actually care and help their users if and when in need unlike Radiolink. Unsure if these radios still have hardware and drop out issues as of today but just be aware, hopefully after reading this you can go with a different radio system. Personally I got a FlySky NB4+ and I love it! I can actually trust my radio and not be worried about my car running away or crashing and potentially loosing it (which is what happened when I was running this RC8X) Also using a Futaba 3PV that I got from here and that system is also pretty good. If you are wanting to learn more about the issues, see this thread here:

Little bit more about the downfall of radiolink: Because of those drop out issues, I seen 2 people racing their cars, their radio cutout, almost ran into the wall, and one ran into a marshal (minor incident/accident). And one of the speed run guys caused 2k+ dollars worth of damage to their speed run chassis. Really a dangerous and hazardous radio DumboRC produces. As Radiolink isn't actually radiolink, and just a clone of DumboRC and DumboRC manages radiolink, so who knew they don't make their own radios and help their own users! Such a shame. 1 reason not to buy no name China brands, but you can do you.
FlySky has went up in quality in the past few years with their NB4 lineup and most racers actually prefer to use Flysky now than opposed to higher end Sanwa and Futaba (not being mean, but those radios are super well built!) But the Flysky is half the price of those radios and has the same functions, and even more practical.
1 other radio recommendation, Lots of people are getting the new Radiomaster MT12, with its ELRS and OpenTX abilities it has, tons of programming options with that radio, super long range, probably twice as much range than a ordinary radio system (Radiolink advertises the RC8X for 1000ft+ while its actually lower than 300 at best, and my NB4 I got around 500 feet with), and with its multi protocol function, it can hook up to most brand and protocol receivers being fhss, flysky, radiolink, traxxas, dsmr spektrum, frsky and more!
