I can remember when Car Action was the only game in town. Used to drool over stuff until I got my own a few years later.

I had stacks of mags! They were a great source of parts retailers plus you could reference the pictures once a car was completely torn apart and couldn't figure out where 1 clip went...
Seeing ppls builds and the depth at their skill levels was always something I wished to achieve.

I’ve got a RC Car Action sub but it’s just crawler builds and basher releases . Mainly just have the sub because I like physical copies of mags. Digital subscriptions are ok, but it’s just such a pain to read and swipe a mag from a screen. Sometimes I come across a decent article in RCCA but not typical.

Bring back racing mags! And nitro features! Make nitro great again!

That nitro rustler build at the bottom of the last pic is so sick! Looks like a modern SEMA build

Before RCCA was around, I used to buy RCM magazines for the cute girls modeling with airplanes

... they only had one little section for surface RCs in them usually.
But it's where I got the idea to mail order my first RC. Mail order...
RCCA was a game changer for me.

This magazine sold at Ben Franklin Store in Merredith NH is what brought me to my first Tower Hobbies/Kyosho advert.
Its been THIS ever since!!!

I have probably 250+ old 4wheel & Off Road, Four-wheeler, Hot Rod, etc type mags. I know I still have my BMX Plus, Thrasher & RC Action mags. And other RC mags too.

Its pretty but its not much of a trail truck as built.

I have had a set of M-T Baja Boss that I'm going to put on this Envoy if I ever finish it. I'm painting the rear axle right now.
Gotta scuff the backing plates and spray, flip, repeat.
Its coming out pretty good considering how badly the housing was rusted when we picked it up! Yay!
I had a set of BFG's on my squarebody plow years ago. I bought them at bj's and got a stupidly good deal! It drove smooth as glass at 75mph and never once got me stuck. I can't remember which series they were but AWESOME!!!
